Oh wow, that’s crazy. But I guess it makes sense after everything happened in the first half of the year and how genuinely happy crowds were to see her in Wimbledon etc. It would be nice if she did win, I see she was a runner up in 2011 as well.

If those are the previous winners then that says it all.

The list also includes Ghandi, Churchill, QEII, Martin Luther King Jnr, the Apollo 8 astronauts, Jimmy Carter, Mikhail Gorbachev and Barack Obama. It's about individuals /groups /ideas that have had an impact during the year.

Whatever your thoughts about the Princess of Wales, remembering the feverish speculation, column inches about her illness early in the year, the headlines in newspapers across the world when she confirmed her diagnosis, the media reports when she was back in the public eye and the absolute torrent of hideousness directed at her on social media I'd say the impact was enormous, and enough to suggest some people take a good hard look at themselves.

But what has she done? She may have had cancer or precancel, she took a whole year off, she hasn't helped anybody with cancer because she never told us what kind. I mean, it is nonsense.

She doesn’t need to let us know what kind of cancer she has. It’s her medical history to tell us or not as she sees fit.

No she doesn't need to tell us, but equally she should not be nominated for Time person of the year.

The winner should be Gisele Pelicot. Anything else is a travesty
