Prince Harry had a hilarious message to those trolling him and Meghan

So, this is a good one.

Harry, who according to some is suffering from plummeting popularity, has no friends, is an irrelevant non-entity and a 'Hollywood Loser', and is on the brink of divorce was last night sharing a platform with his fellow non-entities Bill Clinton, Jeff Bezos, Jerome Powell (Fed Chair), Sam Altman (OpenAI CEO, creators of ChatGPT), Sundar Pichai (Google CEO) and others at the New York Times DealBook Summit.

The conversation with the interviewer, Andy Sorkin, was textbook put-down to Harry's merry band of obsessive trolls around the world:

"Towards the end of the interview, Sorkin, 47, asked Prince Harry about how he grapples with the public fascination surrounding every aspect of his life — a scrutiny that not only highlights the positive causes he advocates for but also casts a harsh spotlight on his personal relationships.
"I Google Newsed you, and there were people fascinated by everything you're doing, all the time. They're fascinated by Meghan is in California right now, and you're here," Sorkin said, seemingly referencing the Duchess of Sussex's planned solo outing at the Paley Honors gala in Beverly Hills on Dec. 4. "And there's articles left and right about, you know, 'Why are you making, doing independent events? Why aren't you doing them together?' "
"Because you invited me, you should have known!" Prince Harry interjected, which made the audience laugh.
Sorkin then replied, "True. Is that normal for you? The second there's an article — she's in California, you're in New York — they say, 'Well, what is happening with these two, right?' Is that a good thing for you, in a way, that there's so much interest in you?"
"No, that's definitely not a good thing. Apparently we've bought or moved house 10, 12 times. We've apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it's just like, what?' " Prince Harry said with a laugh.
"It's hard to keep up with, but that's why you just sort of ignore it. The people I feel most sorry about are the trolls," he continued. "Their hopes are just built and built, and it's like, 'Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,' and then it doesn't happen. So I feel sorry for them. Genuinely, I do."

By the way, Harry also talked at length about his Archewell Foundation Parents Network initiative, to help promote mental health among kids, which is apparently well received, if donations to Archewell are anything to go by.

Enjoy!

Prince Harry Addresses Speculation About Marriage with Meghan Markle: 'We've Apparently Divorced 10 Times'

Hi Meghan 👋

What's the hilarious message btw?

BettyBlueSky · 05/12/2024 10:22

😂😂

Thanks OP

I saw a video of this part of the discussion and it was funny. The audience thought so too.

CRINGE.

Caselgarcia · 05/12/2024 10:29

Hilarious?

Fozzleyplum · 05/12/2024 10:36

All he says is, in essence, " Aren't the people who speculate in a negative way, silly!" He does not say anything to quell any separation rumours. You might say that's because he's doing the " Never complain, never explain" thing, but he and Meghan have done an awful lot of complaining and explaining in the past few years, so it's odd that he's chosen not to explain now.

Probably realising how futile it is, how some people are just so full of hatred they loved to see someone fail or struggle in live.
Those people who used to go and watch the beheadings for entertainment back in the day? Their descendants now go online and spew bile.

Not sure why anyone who hasn't met these people would wish them ill when you see the horrific things that other humans are doing, yet randomers choose to bang nastily on about H&M?

pilates · 05/12/2024 10:50

I can’t find anything hilarious in the post but perhaps you had to be there.

Fozzleyplum · 05/12/2024 10:52

It's not nasty to contrast their past and current behaviour. They have been making allegations about their family for the past few years, whilst tossing around a lot of word salad about the strength of their own relationship ("two trees joined at the base" etc.). But now, when they are rarely seen together, and they know there must be speculation, because they have chosen to put themselves in the public eye, they are saying nothing.

They might suddenly have decided that their relationship is off limits, but it sure as heck wasn't when they wanted to throw shade at others.

PTSDBarbiegirl · 05/12/2024 10:53

WTAF??

TheCraicDealer · 05/12/2024 11:02

Is the hilarious message in the room with us….?

All these interviews feature pre-agreed questions for which they prepare answers well ahead of time. The fact this was allowed to come up as a topic just proves how much speculation bothers them and that they feel the need to clap back or control the narrative as much as they can. After four years you’d think they would have learned for their own sanity not to bother and just get on with the job at hand.

Qnc12345 · 05/12/2024 11:09

What he’s saying doesn’t make sense though - there’s never been any repeated fervent house buying speculation. We all know the house they bought, we’ve all seen the listing.

EdithWeston · 05/12/2024 11:27

I don't see it as "hilarious" but perhaps it came across as funny if you were in the room.

No part of it is a denial though - it's a deflection

Are we meant to take from this that the Portugal purchase is bunkum? (I never did spot how that rumour began, but it's often now taken as fact)

MrsLeonFarrell · 05/12/2024 11:32

I don't think it's particularly hilarious, it's sad that these sorts of rumours are spread about anyone in the public eye.

I wonder why he chose to comment on them, bearing in mind that we know that giving oxygen to rumours only spreads them further (whether they are true or not and I don't think these are true).

Apatapateu · 05/12/2024 16:47

Did Andy Sorkin spit out his water? Did Jeff Bezos and Jerome Powell roll on the floor? Bill Clinton split his sides and require hospitalisation? Did Sam Altman and Sundar Pichai die? I need more details, dammit!

I was going to say the same. Soft focus "interviews" like this are scripted and the questions approved in advance.

So not only did Harry choose to comment, he will very likely have preapproved the question, or even requested that it be asked. The speculation clearly bothers him, as you say. They are both obsessed with what random strangers say about thejm.

They all clapped.

Presumably.

SidekickSylvia · 05/12/2024 17:50

Hilarious? If he ever does stand up, he probably shouldn't lead with it. And I don't think Ricky Gervais has anything to worry about.

Theunamedcat · 05/12/2024 17:52

What a wag he is absolutely side splitting humour 😄

Mylovelygreendress · 05/12/2024 21:03

Not my idea of hilarious but it takes all sorts 🤷‍♀️

Serenster · 05/12/2024 21:33

I wonder if Harry, or indeed the OP stopped to think that his “hilarious” comments apply just as equally to his fervent supporters, who troll in exactly the same way, just with other targets.

Funny that never gets mentioned.

jouxlake · 05/12/2024 22:18

There are always those who will find humour in the absurd, those who laugh alone at their own jokes and leave others looking at them blankly.

At least someone is getting a laugh out of Harry's moaning.

.

stripeyshutters · 05/12/2024 22:25

Gosh that wasn't much of a comeback from him was it? Embarrassing 😬

You couldn't pay me enough money ever to be in the same room as a couple of of those men.

pilates · 06/12/2024 06:33

Exactly @Serenster he does like to play the victim all the time 🥱
