It's lovely to see the King returning to more of his official duties after his chemo. This was his first joint engagement with the Prince of Wales since 2022 as the POW took over as Colonel-in-chief of the Army Air Corps.

I have a lot of sympathy for Charles. I let my sense of taste from COVID. It took a long time to come back.

Horrid and quite worrying imagining life without taste, isn't it? I had Omicron and it was relatively rare with that variant, genetic apparently. Glad yours returned too!

Really good to see Charles out and about, especially with William.

Yes it’s nice to see him up and about again. Looking forward to seeing Kate again when she recovers.

Apaches are so cool.

They're wearing the same tie. Is it the Air Corps tie?

EDIT: Yes, I googled to answer my own question because I realised the internet exists.

👍 great

We all know that Harry served with this corps but as he chose not to be a working Royal this was not an option for him if it ever was. Would William always have outranked him in his role as POW?

It's lovely to see KC looking well and it must be a relief for William to see his dad almost back to normal.

I don't really understand where the impression came from that Harry would have been handed the honour. It was previously held by Charles as POW, so makes sense that it would be handed down to the next POW. And yes, of course Harry removed himself from the equation in any event, as both a non working royal and a non resident of the UK.

I can think of a few people I'd like to give a Middle Wallop!

JJathome · 13/05/2024 16:03

We very rarely see just the two of them, and I actually thought it quite sweet and touching, particularly after all their troubles with Harry’s behaviour, it is nice to see father and son work together.

AnnieSF · 13/05/2024 16:27

@Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar I bet this Wallop hurts more than the dog bowl 😂

I don't think they have always been close from what I have read. Ironically it was Harry who spent more time with his dad as a child, William being Diana's favourite and confidant. It's lovely they are having these years of closeness and mutual support.

It just makes harry and Megan’s fake royal tour look even more jarring. This seemed a genuine and touching royal visit. Done with some taste , caring and elegance from both men. Nothing glitzy or show businsss about it, but Charles tends always to be very understated, as does William. They are in the limelight but do not actively seek it for popularity and clicks.

kate is the same, she gets a huge amount of attention, but she behaves discreetly, doesn’t go on about her family, or what she’s wearing, or pretend to be a leader, and declare herself a role model. She just gets on with the job and tries to make it about other people.

and on that note, I do hope she’s ok.

Thedom · 13/05/2024 17:19

Charles looking good, he seems in great spirits !

William is so tall, he holds himself so well, he has a great build.

That is the prime difference - it is all about the people not themselves.

William looks very handsome in his army fatigues

Redglitter · 13/05/2024 18:05

BBC 6 o'clock news making a 'thing' about Harry not getting a mention. Why would he get a mention. He left.

Lifestooshort71 · 13/05/2024 18:22

Unless I've missed the news, I don't think KC has finished his treatment, has he? If it is ongoing then he's a real trooper cos it sure wipes you out.

It's the equivalent of everyone should get a medal mentality. Not really surprising from the BBC.

Doubtful, it usually goes on for months. But he's a notorious workaholic and probably doesn't want to miss any more of this job than he has to - he's waited so long for it. Good for him.
