Pretty sure this will be one poll dismissed by the William critics on here !

Of course it will. Newsmakers are organisations that are actually important, not some twitter click bait nonsense, or puff pieces in People magazine. William is the future if the monarchy, as are his wife and kids. It's great they are now stepping up and really contributing to the things that matter.

It's not really a surprising result, a lot of this is due to recognition and William & Catherine have been much more visible in the past couple of years, esp since the Queen's death.

They/He always was popular, but he was slightly overshadowed by Harry and his media attention for a few years, esp in the US.

I expect his popularity levels with fluctuate slightly but generally remain high. He's now next in line, and likely to be King in a few years. He is young & handsome, his wife is beautiful and his kids very appealing.

He ticks all the boxes really.

But yes, I can see it getting downplayed.

Infuriating that they call him Prince William of England though!

No great surprise there. I think he will be a fabulous King - I hope I get to see it!

It's a really weird list! Were those names the only ones that people were polled on in a 'Rank the following in order of preference' kind of way, or were they given a much bigger list to choose from (or free choice) and that was the top 15?

Wow. Even King Charles is above joe Biden and Donald trump! I think probably because of the queens death and the coronation, but extremely odd for an Mercian poll.

FWIW I do think he is handsome. However there’s a different standard for world figures. Justin Trudeau is considered a bit of a dreamboat, but if he was serving you in Tesco you might not give him a second look. Jackie Kennedy was very chic but I have never understood why she was considered beautiful.

it’s like they ran out of people after the bidens, Harris, trump and pence and just went, hmm, stick some other people in there to fill it up, put their job titles because they’re a bit more obscure, oh and get some foreign people... a couple of royals maybe oh oh and the guys from Ukraine and Russia, they’re topical.

Facially he is still very handsome - he has great bone structure and clear skin.

I think some people just can't see past the fact he's balding. But slap a full head of hair on him and he'd be considered movie star material. I actually appreciate the fact he's obviously not vain at all about his hair and has embraced it. I find that a very attractive feature in a man. Him trying a combover or wig or hair transplants would be more unattractive IMO (see also Mark Strong, Jason Statham, Dwayne Johnson, Bruce Willis).

I think William is actually quite attractive. He has classically handsome features and he is very fit and tall. The only thing that goes against him is his lack of hair. He was gorgeous in his late teens/twenties. And he still looks good in his uniform when he’s wearing a hat.

But then again beauty is subjective, what does it for one person doesn’t for another.

Agreed and it also states that William is a Prince of England which is odd for the Welsh. But the great news is that the majority of Americans look favourably upon William. Fantastic news when it comes to soft power and the special relationship

Yup.

Maybe it's just a "maturing" thing (& possibly the fact my husband is balding but I still fancy him like mad) but hair, or lack of, honestly doesn't bother me. A man is either attractive or not - the hair can add I suppose, but it's not a big deal.

As I said, i just find vanity really unappealing in a man - so trying to pretend your not actually balding is worse to me.

But anyway - Charles & Diana had 2 very good looking children, I'm sure we can all agree on that.

And you're totally right - this poll is great for Britain and our soft power in America.
