The weather is predicted to be rainy and grey. It won't be fun for those who do go to the Mall.

Oh don't be daft it will be fine! Blue skies would have been better but hardly 2 degrees and sleet is it

Didn't you get the memo?

This is to be declared a disaster, just because. Everything about it is wrong. There can be nothing about it that is good.

Can't froth if anything is seen to go at all well.

Shame but I'm at home with my vino.

michaelmacrae · 03/05/2023 18:11

Good!

Good!

Why good?

Taptap2 · 03/05/2023 18:14

I need to do the garden so it’s a shame but I will lock myself up in my greenhouse listening to podcasts instead

mum2jakie · 03/05/2023 19:17

Typical British bank holiday weather then! Sure it will be a great event regardless 🙂

vera99 · 03/05/2023 19:23

Saint Diana's tears in heaven shall rain down upon the wicked - blessed are those that hunger and thirst for righteousness ! From 10 rows back Go Harry Go !

BMW6 · 03/05/2023 19:29

Wasn't it the same for the late Queens coronation?

If so it's a good omen 🙂

vera99 · 03/05/2023 19:32

I was going into the centre to gawp at the spectacle as we did 3 visits for the Queen's funeral. But if it rains I will be spared the hassle and can carp from the comfort of home at my TV. So it's a win-win from me and no toilet hassles if it rains.

No, it will add to people's feeling of patriotism, I expect. Remember the Diamond Jubilee flotilla where it pissed down all afternoon?

Wiccan sisters are working overtime with magic, spells and mugwort. It was British Kings that burned our ancestors as heretics. It's the least we could do.

When shall we three meet again?
In thunder, lightning, or in rain?

Where is Wellington Womble with his rainmaking machine when you need him? Grin

8roses · 03/05/2023 19:59

Light rain and a gentle breeze - 16 degrees - sounds ok - better than being boiling hot or freezing cold - wouldn’t want hazza to ice his todger again 😂

Probably sick with worry about all the litter they are going to leave behind. 😂Plastic flags, tat and the like. If I could be arsed I would start a miseries threads where we can share bitter tears and righteous anger and keep ourselves gainfully employed and off Kate dress speculation threads and such like. But I can't be arsed....

Arginalia · 03/05/2023 20:00

The Wombles are still pissed off that Elizabeth chose Paddington Bear for her last jubilee. Charles really dropped a bollock by picking Winnie the Pooh for the Coronation. It's rumoured that Great Uncle Bulgaria was heard giving instructions to Wellington, including the phrase Winnie the fucking Pooh - Charles, you have been warned.

TheDogsMother · 03/05/2023 20:02

It is a shame. I'm sure the event will be spectacular but as it's being televised globally I would have loved it to have been blue skies and sunny. London looks beautiful and it would have been great for it to have been seen in all its glory.

Arginalia · 03/05/2023 20:14

Some folk have already set up their tents.

Oh don't please ! I can see some creative wag weaving it into the concert as the dulcet tones of Take 3 fades away a Paddington Bear dressed in a Beefeater costume takes to the stage and does a dance with Prince George which brings the global house down and is regarded as a seminal moment of the 21st Century. Nicholas Twichell intoning and who can forget such a magical Royal moment which has come to define the Coronation. At that point I'm going full 999 for a 10-hour wait to get out a plastic flag removed from my eye which I tried to poke out as I can never unsee it. Complicated further by over imbibing on my 25% off 6 bottles of wine super deal from all good supermarkets.

I reckon you might be onto something with Winnie the Pooh and it is out of copyright...

Good!

That's so mean spirited. Round us people have gone to all sorts of trouble to do nice things for local residents and children. Why would you want that ruined?! How nasty you sound.

I'm afraid it's not a lucky guess, it's been confirmed Winnie will be part of the concert ....

The broadcaster announced yesterday that AA Milne's honey-guzzling Winnie-the-Pooh (pictured) will feature on King Charles's big day.

😂 But if you're fed up about coronation talk, why are you on threads talking about it? Why not just go do different things. As you've said, round you no one seems interested, so why not go talk to them?

eddiemairswife · 04/05/2023 15:42

It was the same last time. We had seats on the Park Lane side of Hyde Park and it was dull and damp, so I was wearing my brown gabardine school mac. As we came out of Victoria there were newspaper placards saying 'Everest conquered'.
