Totally on Kates side, she was worried about dress not fitting and shoes rubbing without socks or tights, plus the protocol flowergirls should have tights, on a 2/3 year old.
And having the world watching while she herself was just 3 weeks after having a baby.
I get why she was stressing.

I don't know because I was not there. However, from what I have seen in the Netflix documentary, the OW interview and the TB interview there are inconsistencies in many comments - of course that doesn't mean everything that is said is untrue but one has to be sceptical.

I think the Duchess of Cambridge comes over as quite shy really and genuine, of course I do not know her - but she has not been slinging allegations around. I have often made the first move if there has been an awkwardness and tried to make amends to ensure peace and good relationships even when I know I am in the right - particularly with family members. I think this was what the flowers were - a way of trying to ensure harmony. For someone to then go public and say "she owned it" shows a lack of manners and to be quite brash - it could be of course a different culture in the way the flowers were viewed. However, there does seem a reluctance to accept any blame whatsoever - or any accountability (to use the term that seems to be so current.)

At the end of the day we have relations which we didn't choose - we have to try and get on with them. Its not about scoring points its about acceptance.

I agree but also wanted to add that Catherine had just had Louis so not so easy to just nip across with Charlotte to get the dress fitted.
My sis in laws wedding was fixed and planned within 5 months of them getting engaged. In those 5 months we had a house move which was pre planned, I was pregnant and gave birth 5 weeks before the big day.
Getting dressed made for my older two girls was more stressful than the house move as my sis in law has bought the fabric but I had to find a dressmaker to get outfits made.
It was exhausting.

I agree it was this sort of thing. But I thought that the flowers might have been taken over after the baby brain comment. I’m thinking William got cross and Catherine tried to smooth things over. That would account for the quite extreme reaction of throwing the flowers in the bin.

I think William being cross about the baby brain comments happened in a subsequent conversation didn't it (hard to tell!). So the comment was made, Kate was annoyed/upset/cried/whatever. Then at some later point they had a get together to try and sort things out, the comment was brought up, Meghan initially denied it then said "Oh I remember, it was blablabla" and that's when William got cross and Kate said we aren't close enough for you to say that?

Scalottia · 09/01/2023 21:13

No, please bugger off with this shite!

Theimpossiblegirl · 09/01/2023 21:15

YANBU -- can I request some more memes please?

Rushingfool · 09/01/2023 21:21

From what I can gather, from what Harry has said, and what Meghan said on Oprah, the text exchange happened, then Harry came home and found Meghan sobbing on the floor. Presumably he somehow relayed that to Kate, who came round with flowers. Then Meghan threw the flowers in the bin? Or has that bit not been validated by Harry or Meghan?

Rushingfool · 09/01/2023 21:28

Also, he's gaslighting when he says he and Meghan didn't say the RF were racist in the Oprah interview. They certainly heavily implied it and then let the world infer it. And they did that deliberately, presumably to hurt the RF, because it certainly didn't hurt the tabloid press. Not sure why he's backtracking on it now exactly but having watched the interview, even Tom Bradby was a bit "wtf?".

It was a way of denying his own historic racism “Oh no, it’s not racism, it’s unconscious bias”. Tit.

I love your correct usage of imply and infer @Rushingfool.

Hi all, the board is back up and running so we'll move this over now. Flowers

DancyNancy · 09/01/2023 21:47

Oh good point @RedToothBrush I forget he would have helicopter flying. I can't imagine that would pay the lifestyle he wants and is used to. I just wonder what he feels he could do that pays the big bucks but everyone leaving him alone. Meghan more acting work maybe.

I just wonder what he'd do if everyone genuinely did just forget about them and not give them any more print/airtime. Does he have another high paying career choice or does he think he can live the lap of luxury as a helicopter pilot (maybe he can I have no idea of salaries for that 😅)

Rushingfool · 09/01/2023 21:48

Why thank you @Blossomtoes. 🙂

DancyNancy · 09/01/2023 21:48

Not being sarcastic to you btw @RedToothBrush .
Although maybe a little towards H 😅

Jetskicat · 09/01/2023 21:49

Maybe Harry was having a chat with the bin when Meg threw the flowers in there? 🤔

HoneyDragon · 09/01/2023 21:50

In ten years time we will have a deficit of trained and qualified helicopter pilots so it’s a good career option. He can do flight tours of LA and point out his mates, I mean, celebs houses, to tourists.
