It's a much less combative interview than the ITV one. Noticeably different.

He thought his mum was still alive until the age of 23.
He entered the army in a state of shock, and found the normalcy healing.
He took psychedelics like mushrooms to heal his mind.
Camilla is the wicked step mother who briefed against him to make herself look good.
William and Charles were upset that Harry spoke up about the tabloids and race baiting because they hadn't had the chance to protect their own partners in a similar way.
He's not sure whether he was bigoted before he met Meghan (don't worry, Harry, the rest of us know you were).
More vague accusations about William being concerned about Meghan and being influenced by the press leading to Dogbowlgate.
He feared for Meghan and that she would end up with the same fate as his mum.
Why not renounce you titles? - He says, what difference would it make.
He says he will never brief against his family (but accuses them of doing so). Speaking out now is a way of speaking directly to them.
Jeremy Clarkson again. Palace silence on this is betrayal.
The day of the Queen's death. He asked W&K how they were getting to Balmoral. Doesn't say what the reply was. Says a couple of hours later all the family in the Ascot area were jumping on a plane. He wasn't invited.
HE doesn't speak to William now, but looks forward to finding peace with him.
He doesn't speak to his dad. Hasn't for a long time.
He doesn't see himself returning to the RF.
He says he will apologise for whatever it is he did wrong, but nobody will tell him.
This all started with "them" briefing daily against H&M to the point they had to run away.
He looks forward to having a family relationship back.
British press, British press, British press.

Completely different demeanour in this compared to the ITV interview.

milti · 09/01/2023 09:29

Nasty personal comments about William - his baldness and general ageing - but ‘he didn’t mean to hurt anyone!’ Back pedalling like a baby on a bike

Completely different demeanour in this compared to the ITV interview.

The difference between talking to someone who knows you and your brother well, and talking to a sympathetic stranger pre conditioned to believe you.

I recall reading about the flight to Scotland the day the Queen died. IIRC Harry had been invited on the RAF flight, but they had to wait on the tarmac for a couple of hours whilst he argued about Meghan could coming too. By the time the RAF flight arrived the Queen had died.

HerReputationMadeItDifficultToProceed · 09/01/2023 09:36

Thought his mum was still alive until he was 23? Huh? Can someone explain this please?

MoirasSaggyBundles · 09/01/2023 09:41

He thought Diana was in hiding. He only accepted her death after seeing the police file on the accident and the photographs therein.

Which isn't a great judgement on his mum - that she'd abandon her kids to protect herself.

Interesting that he was so outraged when family members advised him to take his time when planning to marry, yet he felt perfectly entitled to tell his father not to marry Camilla.

No self-awareness at all. Isn't there anyone close to him that can give him advice, or make him realise how he is coming across?

I think that's unfair. I doubt he was thinking logically about it in that way.

MoirasSaggyBundles · 09/01/2023 09:45

He talks up race prejudice within the RF in this US interview. Says that they didn't like her because she's American, an actor and black.

He can't get his story straight on this at all.

At age 12, maybe. At age 23?

Silence is golden. They are both just digging up the dirt for money. Sad really, we all have sadness

he was a kid at 12
i can imagine having the same wishes

A few people in the media now saying the briefings were coming from Meghan. Do you think Harry knows?

clyspa · 09/01/2023 09:54

Wish he had been pushed more on the giving up titles bit and the 'they' briefing against him (just camilla)? And specifically what stories do it can be verified or at least attempted.

It's a little hard to follow really when you consider the narrative is RF/they are approving or briefing the media but at the same time he is angry the family is not stopping the media or public ally condemning stories - if he believes the story came from the RF, what's the sense / value in expecting them to condemn their own leak?

themessygarden · 09/01/2023 09:54

So is he alluding to Oprah exaggerating the racist angle in that interview ?

I hope they have proof which they can make public.

Childhood grief. If you read the comments on the YouTube clip there are lots of posts from people who also lost a parent as a child saying the same thing. They kept seeing a stranger on the street and wondering if it was their dead parent etc.

He didn't accept she was dead till he seen the photos in his 20's. He told himself she was in hiding , probably his way of protecting himself and not accepting she had died.

Very very sad and the trauma he went through has clearly affected him.

Yet told Tom Bradby they aren't racist.

No he says that the UK press accused the RF of racism. Not him and Meghan.

I agree. He also said he accused William of believing the press narrative of Meghan bullying staff. So I would assume he therefore doesn't think that that story came from or was leaked by William? Also, is William an idiot/does Harry think he's an idiot? Surely people who have been in the tabloids would be the last people to believe everything they read in them.
So if William did believe Meghan was bullying staff, I doubt he got that from the papers. And from Harry's comment, it doesn't seem William leaked it either.

clyspa · 09/01/2023 10:01

Re the stories about Meghan

  • about her family these were spurious or provided by her family. What's the value of the RF requesting this when they are getting ready to have her join them.
  • rubbish like her nail polish, wearing tights type stories - what's the value?
  • about her race/previous marriage/suits - don't need inside knowledge to write those stories
  • bridesmaid dresses / ok might have been RF but turns out quite a non story or really about baby brain which was never leaked till Harry told us

I am convinced MM herself leaked stuff about her family esp through the friends who spoke to people magazine and Omid SpiteCobie so do two wrongs make a right?

Also Harry doesn't say leaking was up cover up stuff but to rehabilitate which sounds like camilla and Andrew but really camilla had been rehabilitated by the time Meghan arrived wasnt she?
