Harry & Meghan has become the UK’s most-watched subscription TV series of the year - so far.
And that proves what point exactly, it was a one off car crash TV show. Most views were pure curiosity 2.4m people watched the first then the number plunged to 800,000 by the third episode.
Netflix is a Subscription service, number of views are pretty much irrelevant to Netflix for their main source of income. It is retention of subscribers they need and they are still losing subscribers by the bucket load every month.
If a majority of people can’t be bothered to even finish the series they certainly are not going to keep their subscriptions to see any more content from Meghan and Harry this was supposed to be the show stopper of the century. It was supposed to pull subscribers and keep them for more H&M content but they have only shown to be massively decisive and unpopular on the reviews they have been given across all platforms. Most people will have very likely taken a Trial and cancelled.
Even in America where Netflix have been trying a low pay advert subscription service, Netflix have had to refund all the advertisers this week because they failed to even get the agreed viewing targets of ads by 80%.
When Q4 subscription and retention figures come in next year for Netflix and they have dropped for a 4th consecutive quarter, H&M have failed, they are a busted flush that have blown their single card issue resale factor they have tried to trash the only thing that made them saleable their link to the RF.
No other company will have any need for such a decisive set of figures after this and good riddance.
