Would never watch it, never had Netflix, you are just encouraging a couple of narcissists.

Highlighta · 22/12/2022 06:51

There went 6 hours of my life I'm never getting back.

I only watched it as I said I'd watch it together with someone else.

It was a cringe fest and so bloody boring.

And since when is the Monarchy referred to as 'the institution'. Ad nauseum might I add.

If it wasn't clear, I didn't enjoy it.

Tontostitis · 22/12/2022 06:57

Manipulative, cringe fest

Doingmybest12 · 22/12/2022 07:04

I am not a royalist but am a bit intrigued by celebrity. I put it on twice but couldn't get passed the first few minutes. So highly produced and stylised.

Virginiaplain · 22/12/2022 07:11

Didn't watch.
How many billions have Netflix made from our Royal family - it's seems unfair the RF and us don't get any of the profits.

LindorDoubleChoc · 22/12/2022 07:16

Haven't watched a second of it and never will. I'm not interested enough in what they have to say to wade through 6 hours of TV. I won't be reading Harry's book either. To coin a Mumsnet phrase, I wish they would just bore off.

How is that unfair?

Harry & Meghan has become the UK’s most-watched subscription TV series of the year - so far.

And that proves what point exactly, it was a one off car crash TV show. Most views were pure curiosity 2.4m people watched the first then the number plunged to 800,000 by the third episode.
Netflix is a Subscription service, number of views are pretty much irrelevant to Netflix for their main source of income. It is retention of subscribers they need and they are still losing subscribers by the bucket load every month.

If a majority of people can’t be bothered to even finish the series they certainly are not going to keep their subscriptions to see any more content from Meghan and Harry this was supposed to be the show stopper of the century. It was supposed to pull subscribers and keep them for more H&M content but they have only shown to be massively decisive and unpopular on the reviews they have been given across all platforms. Most people will have very likely taken a Trial and cancelled.

Even in America where Netflix have been trying a low pay advert subscription service, Netflix have had to refund all the advertisers this week because they failed to even get the agreed viewing targets of ads by 80%.
When Q4 subscription and retention figures come in next year for Netflix and they have dropped for a 4th consecutive quarter, H&M have failed, they are a busted flush that have blown their single card issue resale factor they have tried to trash the only thing that made them saleable their link to the RF.

No other company will have any need for such a decisive set of figures after this and good riddance.

You do understand this is the norm for most TV shows right? the breakdown for the Crown:

“The Crown” Season 5 brought in 1.1 million viewers on launch day, according to Overnights.tv.

The BARB figures showed 666,000 stayed to watch the second episode and around 300,000 watched episode 3. Episode 4 garnered around 147,000 viewers while episode 5 dropped below the 100k mark to 66,000.

I understand that you're desperate to paint H&M a failure but this ain't it 😂

Neither were Netflix pinning their hopes on the Obamas, Ryan Murphy, the Sussexes or any others they signed multi-year deals with.

I did.
I think it should have been called "The Real Housewives of Buckingham Palace".

Yes I enjoyed it . A love story .

Delectable · 23/12/2022 03:42

I haven't watched. I plan to watch over Christmas or soon after New Year. I love M&H and not surprised they've got high viewing inspite of the RF's media machine against them.

amyneedssleep · 23/12/2022 09:59

Yes, I watched all six episodes. It wasn't anything groundbreaking but it was easy watching and quite interesting in places. I particularly liked the guy who was a former palace spokesperson and who now worked for Archewell (can't remember his official job title but it was something high up); he came across really well.

Overall I think Netflix will be satisified that they got their money's worth from M&H, and I'm looking forward to the Invictus Games documentary whenever that apears.

MyPenIsHuge · 23/12/2022 10:02

In bed recovering from pneumonia... yeah I watched it but from sheer boredom. I can't do much else but watch tv.

That made me laugh!

RoseMartha · 23/12/2022 10:13

No I am not interested.

defi · 23/12/2022 10:19

Yes I really enjoyed it.

Scriabin · 23/12/2022 11:52

I wonder if you have to watch and entire episode for it to count?

I've only watched the first 10 minutes of episode one (and that was in two sittings on different days). I turned it off at about 3-4 minutes the first time when she said she couldn't remember the 2015 interview where she was asked 'William or Harry?'...the second time was the deep breathy 'and then along came H' comment. I honestly don't think I will watch more.

Sour grapes. Just because you don't like Harry and Meghan, doesn't mean the show was a car crash. I personally LOVED it but I also understand that others who watched it may not have loked it. It was heart warning and a lot to love. Might watch it again or maybe look for the Oprah interview and see if I can watch that again. I also liked William and Kate's wedding. Might look that up and watch it.

"Royal experts" have literally paid off mortgages off of trashing Harry and Meghan. Don't know what you're complaining about.
