What does Kate do?

RoyalFamilyFan · 10/01/2022 20:10

Just wondering if there is an article anywhere about what a typical day for Kate is? I remember seeing a typical weeks diary for Princess Diana when not on Royal tours. Diana's was full of gyms, exercise classes, beauty treatments and lunches. Just wondering if Kate's would look the same?

Children have been off school.......

eyeseeyou · 10/01/2022 21:55

Do you know, I don't work. It is really easy to spend time doing stuff other than paid employment. And Kate does work as a working royal. A lot of women work part time. A lot are retired. They fill their time too.

needmoreshinys · 10/01/2022 21:56

@RoyalFamilyFan

Her last engagement was on the 14th of December. There aren't as many engagements as some appear to think. She did spend 2 days apparently sitting for the photos for her 40th birthday.
So are you pissed off she isn't doing any engagements?

Maybe as a wealthy lady she decided to go fuck it and take Christmas off

Sarahlou63 · 10/01/2022 21:56

What would you have her do? Scrubbing sick from her children's sheet and posting it on TikTok? Whatever she does on a daily basis would attract hate and derision so what would be the point?

TheHairyDinosaur · 10/01/2022 21:56
@TheHairyDinosaur yes but they fill it with something. So a woman I used to know with kids in boarding school used to organise lots of local community events. A friend has an amazing garden. Most people don't just sit and watch TV for 15 years.
Some do. Friend of mine has school aged children, she is not in work, she just potters about all say, gets her nails done, binge watches Netflix. I mean it's her life it's up to her.

Not everyone needs or wants to "look busy" 90% of the time.

They don't write every single thing into the court circular. They don't include the background and research engagements that they do. They don't include private engagements for example when they follow up with people from past projects - sometimes we hear about those later but they are not added to the regular court circular lists.

For example, when Kate spend time shadowing the midwives and meeting with academics before the main launch of the Early Years initiatives - none of that was in the Court Circular at the time.

Her 'job' includes all the admin and planning parts of working with third parties which also doesn't get minutely documented.

Have you ever worked at a high level in a non-profit field, government agency or international business? Think of public figures who work in those fields - the public only see about 20 percent of the actual hours put in.

2022WIP · 10/01/2022 22:00

@RoyalFamilyFan why do you care?

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 10/01/2022 22:01

Is the court circular like a newsletter they send out to show how many ribbons have been cut and primary schools visited? The OP clearly makes a study of it!

RoyalFamilyFan · 10/01/2022 22:06

@cabingirl I have put together the information for someone high profile visiting and liaising with their pa.
I am not expecting her to scrub floors or anything! I just wondered what her daily interests were. So we know the Queen used to walk the Corgis every day and Anne rides her horses. I really was not looking for anything more than something like this.
And yes maybe she does watch Netflix every day. Maybe she has a soap she is obsessed with? I am interested.

Can't remember who said it, but it honestly hadn't occurred to me that of course Diana who had an eating disorder spent lots of time on beauty treatments and exercise. That is really sad.

I am not going to comment any more on this thread. I am genuinely interested in getting a sense of who she is. And I think how you spend your daily life gives a better idea of that than other broader interests.
And as I said, my impression, which could be rubbish, is that she spends a lot of time with her family - her parents and sister. Some people are very family orientated. I just wondered if this impression is true.

It is a bit mad though isn't it, having prince or princess as your job rather than as a dressing up game.

SallyLockheart · 10/01/2022 22:10

Well I think we can all see how the OP spends her day and we have a sense of the kind of person the OP is.

BringBackThinEyebrows · 10/01/2022 22:11

It'd be far more interesting if you posted about what you do with your time, OP.

Do you search for information about Kate on a regular basis? How often? What sources do you use to find information about Kate? When did your interest in Kate start?

TheHairyDinosaur · 10/01/2022 22:12

Well haven't you changed your tune OP....

2 posts in you didn't believe it and she spent too much time with her mother....now that's all ok because you've decided she's a "family person"

Nothing but a wind up merchant.....

RoyalFamilyFan · 10/01/2022 22:15

I know I said I was leaving, but I hate people lying about me.
I did not say she spent too much time with her mother. I said I suspected she spent a lot of time with her mother. There was no judgement at all. So don't lie about me.

Oh does someone not like people talking about them and making assumptions....

Pot and kettle...comes to mind 😂

Have a word with yourself about that username, OP.

She gets up at 5:45.
Has a shower and outs on her freshly laundered dressing gown.
Then pops down stairs, and has half a spinach and kale smoothie.
Then she zips back up to the bedroom and glares at William because he left his socks on the bedroom floor again.
She then gets dressed for the day, Louis is up and running along the hall landing, and she has to shout at him "keep it down Loony Lou!" To which he always replies "blaaaaaaah" and he whizzes off to wake his brother up by jumping on his bed.. Then it's 7am and she goes to retrieve Louis and George. They collect Charlotte on the way past, who has already got herself dressed.
They all eat breakfast together, doing impressions of William's Snoring.
Then William clomps downstairs, and George hides his dad's cutlery somewhere. Such larks.
Then she sends them all back upstairs to get dressed. Charlotte protests as she's already dressed. Kate then spends.12 minutes dealing with Charlotte. Louis usually squirts toothpaste all over the bathroom, and George shouts down "Mummy! Loony has done it agaaaaaaaaiiin".
She then glares at William again who is still trying to find his spoon for his Coco Popse and is oblivious to the unfolding drama.
She then herds the kids to the door, where a driver picks them up and takes them to school and nursery.
She then finally has time to herself.
In the morning, if not engaged, She fucks off down to Lidl or Aldi to see what bargains are to be had in the Middle Aisles. She then pops into Iceland on the way home because she loves a sly Fundus Crispy Pancake for a midnight snack.
Then it's time to call mother.
Then she has whatever lunch the housekeeper has made, sometimes she doesn't like it, but is too polite to say anything.
Then, she has until around 4, so she flicks through TikTok and Insta.
Then the kids are dropped home. She sometimes has to call for the Nanny to help them get sorted and doing homework, because she found a really interesting Insta account that she wants to catch-up on.
The she'll have dinner with the kids. They might ask where William is, but tbh she hadn't noticed he was missing all day.
Then she'll give the kids their iPad and that's them til bedtime.
She then spends the evening watching EastEnders and finding series to watch on Netflix. Updating her "to watch list"
Then she goes to bed at some point. The socks have disappeared. She wonders where William is and falls asleep.

shetlandskies · 10/01/2022 22:23

W&C are independently wealthy, they could walk away from the RF and never have to work again/live a modest UC country life.

FWIW OP, I gave up a relatively high flying career during primary school years, did the school run and a bit of charity work while surviving on one salary before returning to my career just before DC reached secondary school age.

It was important for me to be around for DC rather than carrying on travelling internationally every week.

Not sure what your problem is with DOC but I think she's doing a grand job. So what if she spends time with her mum. I doubt she can be herself or trust too many people and I think that spending time with her own family is probably a great antidote to her public life.

Read this again OP

Then read your own thread title.

Keke94LND · 10/01/2022 22:27

She plays the piano and is passionate about photography doesn't she ?

theNumbersStation · 10/01/2022 22:28

Apparently there is no judgement here.

Not a hint of it.

Nary a whiff.

No sign of it at all.

So why is my inner Nan bubbling up to the surface…

What does Kate do?
cafedesreves · 10/01/2022 22:32

@RoyalFamilyFan she smokes?! I'm amazed

Well we only know what has been said about her by her friends when they are allowed to talk to the media and hints from various things released about her, and a few things said in interviews, but if you are genuinely asking what her hobbies and interests are then I believe they are the following:

Exercise - she clearly does a regular exercise regime - it's been reported she swims in the Buckingham Palace pool, as well as being a member of a fancy London private health club.

Tennis - her form when playing with Emma Raducanu in the summer shows she plays regularly and probably has lessons.

Outdoors - she's mentioned in interviews that her favourite thing to do is be outside, walking, messing around in the mud with the kids, gardening. Walking their dog. There were many pap shots when the kids were little of her taking them out in Kensington Gardens on a daily basis. William has talked about her being the gardener in their relationship and how she is teaching him stuff.

Photography - it's one of her hobbies she's been very open about. And photography experts have analysed her work and called her a good amateur which comes with practice so I assume she does it on a regular basis.

Art - she's not been as open about this but there have been many hints that it's a hobby which she is quite good at - see Pippa's wedding programme, and the painting she did of St Andrews. As well as her knowledge on classical art from her degree,

Piano - now we know that she's taken up playing the piano regularly during the pandemic

Arts and Crafts with the kids - it's implied that she's the one instigating the home-made cards, painting activities, cooking projects etc. We've seen pap shots of her taking the kids to those pottery painting places.

Cycling - there have been reports of them cycling as a family on Tresco, and on other holidays

I suspect she likes sailing - the two events she did competing against William and, the land sailing activity they did - she was very comfortable managing the different techniques and definitely not a beginner.

Cooking - there have been reports of her doing the birthday cakes, and making home made pasta. Mary Berry seems to think she has good technique so probably something she does on a regular basis (bet she has help with the clean-up though)

Watching TV - William has talked about how Come Dancing is one of her favourite shows which she likes to watch with her mother.

Is that enough to be going on with?

cafedesreves · 10/01/2022 22:34

I can't find any evidence at all she does. Maybe at St Andrew's the odd one but not now
