Twirly , right on.

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 21/02/2016 07:27

God - in just imaging if you wandered on to MN for the first time and were confronted with that thread. Bloody hell.

wannaBe · 21/02/2016 07:30

If as many people post as much inane crap as quickly as possible we can fill it up...

Technically not allowed but sometimes needs must

It's a bloody awful thing to read.

I know IHave has her own issues and I'm sorry for that but bloody hell she is utterly vile in that thread.

MN when I see how quick you are to pull much more inoccuous threads than that because the op doesn't like being told they are being unreasonable, I really do wonder. It's very very disappointing that you've allowed this to continue and cause someone genuine distress. Very disappointing.

TheGreatSnafu · 21/02/2016 07:32

I agree, bit

gooseberryroolz · 21/02/2016 07:33

Good idea wanna.

We could just emoji it to an early end with Flowers etc

OP posts:
gooseberryroolz · 21/02/2016 07:33

Nearly 800 posts to go, mind you.

OP posts:
wannaBe · 21/02/2016 07:35

Yes

If on PC can easily multiple post though.

gooseberryroolz · 21/02/2016 07:35

Okay.

OP posts:
TheGreatSnafu · 21/02/2016 07:35

Could we 800 emojis before deletion? But continuing to post on it just keeps it in "active"

Redglitter · 21/02/2016 07:36

Surely the best thing would be to not post on it at all now and hope it falls down the active list. Constantly bumping it will just keep it at the fore front. It's been reported there's really nothing else can be done til MNHQ start for the day.

Clearly the night watch needs reassessed

gooseberryroolz · 21/02/2016 07:36

No, it's page views that keep it on 'trending' under the new system, which is self perpetuating. Posts make no difference.

Posts keep it near the top of the active list though. Every time someone posts it bumps up to the top of the page

TheGreatSnafu · 21/02/2016 07:38

Right, goose. Then if we start posting emojis then at least is signifies that we want it shut down and will derail/ discourage further comments?

BernardlookImaprostituterobotf · 21/02/2016 07:47

I'm just here agree with redonkulus tbh.
This isn't the first time the Nw have been MIA (and why not, they are volunteer mods after all) but for a site with the size and diversity of mumsnet there ought to be better cover.
This thread was appalling and while not the worst I've ever read here it is certainly the worst to ever remain standing for so long.

Oscarandelliesmum · 21/02/2016 07:47

How can that thread still be running?

UmmedAndAhhed · 21/02/2016 07:51

Bloody hell!! Big Fail for night watch. That's been running for hours.

GrinAndTonic · 21/02/2016 07:56

I live in a completely different hemisphere so the controversial threads are normally deleted by the time I get on MN in the evening.
For that thread to STILL be active is poor management by the nightwatch. You'll happily delete innocuous comments but let this stand?
Ridiculous.

Champagneformyrealfriends · 21/02/2016 07:56

Threads still running-night watch are nowhere to be found-mnetters take matters into their own hands. Can't believe that it's had to come to this but I'm so touched by what people are doing to try and help oddsocks.

musicinspring1 · 21/02/2016 07:57

What is the night watch? I think it's terrible that post is still going after so many reports. Is mums net not monitored outside of office hours?!?

londonrach · 21/02/2016 07:59

Have reported too. Abit shocked it wasnt picked up. Hope oddsocks is ok. She matters alot! Flowers

Bloody hell, I've never read anything like that at all. HaveI needs a ban. Utterly shocking.
