Does you cat sleep in random places?

Does anyone else’s cat sleep in random places?
Here’s mine who was spark out in front of a door on the landing (until I accidentally woke him up - bad slave!) It’s not in a sun beam or anything.

..he’s moved slightly so is now in the middle of the landing and will act like I’m trying to stand on him if I step over.

Mine has been sleeping on the bathroom floor by the bath and doesn't even move when people are getting in or out.

On top of the laundry pile in the kitchen. Just plopped right down for a long nap. The problem is seeing her before we chuck it in; my husband is awful about that 😆

mine likes to sleep in the open doorway then gets upset when we want to go through the door.....photo to follow hopefully

@MagpiePi I have a very similar carpet in my hall, stairs and landing and the top step is currently occupied by Junior Tabby, queen of awkward sleeping places. I get a sliver of baleful side-eye if I dare to step over her, but I'd have to rattle the Dreamies pouch to actually get her to move.
Senior Tabby is on the bedroom windowsill - I have the curtains closed at the moment, and I can just see the tip of her tail poking out from under the hem. She was chattering at a pigeon on the lawn earlier on, which always makes me smile, but all quiet now. She'll no doubt have dozed off with all the effort.

He’s now moved to just inside one of the bedroom doorways.

He does this at night too sometimes which is not great if I have to go for a wee.

Plus theirs is no consistency, he’s either squashed into a tiny space like the gap between a cupboard and the wall, or stretched out in the middle of a thoroughfare.

When we adopted Louie he liked to be up high, and took to sleeping on top of the fridge freezer. I put a box up there, and popped his blanket in it - two and a half years on he still hops up some days. (Only ever late morning, never any other time of day.) It’s barely even a box now, but it’s his box.

They tend to move around, i read somewhere they do that in the wild to keep their fleas at a manageable level. Presume a % of the fleas hop off and cat then sleeps somewhere else so fleas don't hop back on again.

in my closet - I’m not allowed to close the sliding doors in case they want to nap in there. One of my cats will actually come running if she hears me sliding the doors in case I may have the audacity to close the doors.

I’ve opened the doors to the wardrobe for Madam before; she will try to hook her paw in to open them, bless her. I also open the bedroom window for her to sit on the sill and judge the school run parents.

Ours sleeps under the big chair on the carpeted upstairs hallway at night. She didn't like it when I added a blanket to her spot.

In the hallway right near the front door and in his littertray?! At one point he was pissing in his cat bed and sleeping in his littertray!

Ive heard this too and I’ve never had a cat that slept in the same place all the time. Current cat sleeps in different places in the day and at night too.

A friend had a cat who shunned any traditional comfy sleeping places and preferred plastic bags or friend’s wax jacket. Crazy!
