So...i was supposed to be getting a Russian blue kitten but sadly it fell through 😪. Next week I am picking up this little baby boy and I can't wait 🥰🥰🥰. Isn't he gorgeous? ❤️

Once I got my own cats, the FB algorithm started showing me lots of "whose cat is this?" posts in local groups. I started scanning for microchips, then found I couldn't just leave the ones without owners and took them in to get neutered, chipped and vaccinated while I found rescue places. I got to know the local rescues quite well and one asked if I could foster for them. These are actually the first two I didn't find myself.

What a lovely thing to do, I didnt know that you could scan for microchips. How many cats do you have at the one time?

Anyone can buy a scanner on the internet but you have to be a registered vet or rescue to access the database. If the cat's chipped I have to call a vet and they tell me if the cat's been reported lost or is close to home and ok to let go. If it's lost then I take the cat to the vet and the owner collects from there.

I've got 3 resident cats and just the 2 fosters at the moment. The most I've had was 4 at once and that was pretty manic!

I never knew that, does it take up lots of your time dealing with lost kitty's? Where in the UK are you about? ❤️

I'm in eastern England. It can get intense, especially when I'm looking for a cat that's been reported as injured but it's not contained. That often takes several hours over evenings and weekends and sadly I still don't find them all. I don't do as much of that when I have fosters in because between them, resident cats, DC, job and general life I don't have a lot of time!
