Don’t try this in the heat

So on Facebook a vet’s tip for cooling down your cat was to place cat in a bowl/sink of cold water immersing the paws. Tried this with my cat, her tail and back legs got soaked and I only got a tiny scratch. Had to placate her with freshly cooked chicken. She’s now washing her tail dry. Do not do this!

MrCat’s hot weather treat is a raw egg. He absolutely adores it! And we adore watching him - first he tries to chew the white, then he chases the yolk around the bowl trying to lick it up.

Hmm, given the way he goes for Marmite, maybe I should offer him Marmite ice-cubes 😂

Cats scathing looks are the best! With the stalk away and head and tail held indignantly high.

I put a bowl of fresh water down for mine last night , they both steamed in thinking "Oh 2nd dinner ".
They were beyond horrified to discover it was just water .

Ah well you couldn't do that any more where I live - hosepipe ban just been announced.

I tried a tip a few people had given me, putting the pouches in the fridge for a few hours. The LOOKS I got last night, followed by 2 cat's stalking away from the bowls stiffly and clearly unimpressed. They left it alone until it warmed up to room temperature (somewhere close to the mouth of a furnace here in the south east!)

I did this too! He approached it, decided not, did his ‘disappointed in you’ walk away, so I then had to warm it for 20 seconds in the microwave (made sure no hot spots) before he could bear to eat it. (Well. I didn’t have to, but the fact remains, I did!)

They were actually silently judging you! Even if they CBA.

After 3 previous cats I’ve given up mostly pleasing mine (1 cat) with what she eats or doesn’t eat. She gets a wide selection. She’s very good though, not fussy. She does drink water (I see her) but vet assures me it’s fine. I’m just noticing her drink if that makes sense?
