Help me name these little squishes

All being well, these little cuties will be coming to live with us in 3 weeks. The tabby is a girl, who my eldest wants to call Mildred (she’s a big fan of the Worst Witch). The black and white is a boy, and we must rescue him from the fate of being named Loveheart Glitter by the youngest. Any suggestions that I can put to her as alternatives?

Also open to names other than Mildred, although I’m quite taken with it!

Loveheart glitter is perfect! Also, your youngest gets to name the cat, which is wonderful. I reckon in my house that name would morph into The Captain… Captain Loveheart.. ( because it sounds like Captain Beefheart. )

SunnyHappyMe · 11/08/2025 22:57

Loveheart Glitter absolutely! A neighbour did very similar to you and her DC called one of their kits Lady Glittersparkles from the Trolls movie I think?) and now everyone locally knows who Lady Glittersparkles is!

MrsMoastyToasty · 11/08/2025 23:09

He looks like a Dave.

PumpkinScarf · 11/08/2025 23:12

Sabrina and Eli

I’m sorry but Loveheart Glitter gets my vote haha

Toddlerteaplease · 11/08/2025 23:28

I’d call them Oramorph and Zomorph!

AltitudeCheck · 11/08/2025 23:57

Mildred and Ginger sound good together and I love your youngest's idea of naming a b&w cat ginger 🤣

BobbyGentry · 12/08/2025 00:08

Brave King Loveheart Arthur Glitter III (shortened to Art) and Mildred (Milly)

CalzoneOnLegs · 12/08/2025 00:21

Not Glitter please -because of Gary. George and Mildred wasn’t racist, mainly wimpish spineless husband / sharp tongued wife alluding to his lack of ‘performance’ often whilst smoking in a Nylon ‘Housecoat’ IIRC

Growlybear83 · 12/08/2025 00:25

I agree with previous posters - he has to be George.

MarxistMags · 12/08/2025 00:27

George is the perfect name !
They are SO cute 🥰

AnotherGreyMorning · 12/08/2025 05:59

Loveheart Glitter is an amazing name!

BatshitCrazyWoman · 12/08/2025 06:06

They are gorgeous 😍 I'm not a fan of 'matching pair' or alliterative names, so I'm loving Loveheart Glitter! I like people names for cats, so Wilf? Arthur? Angus?

Empress13 · 12/08/2025 06:10

Mildred and Milo

PestoHoliday · 12/08/2025 06:14

My niece called her tabby cat Sooty and the black and white cat Ginger. DS2's friend in reception called their puppy Pencil.

Small kids laugh in the face of naming convention.

chunkybear · 12/08/2025 06:30

I’m with love heart glitter (we had a guinea pig called princess sparkles and another called lollipop from our children’s ideas of great names 🤣
… or George … very retro 😋

EssentiallyDecluttering · 12/08/2025 06:42

No way Loveheart Glitter - too reminiscent of Gary Glitter, I just could not use that name and would be embarrassed to register it at the vet or tell people.

George for me, but I'd understand if the DCs don't go for that.

CloseEncountersOfTheTurdKind · 12/08/2025 07:25

I had a school friend whose cats were called Killer Death Cat and Thunder paw Doomslayer!

Yellowbirdcage · 12/08/2025 07:32

Yes. Millie and Lovie.
Cats never get called by their official names anyway. When my cat goes to the vet and they call out his name it’s ’who’s THAT?’.

We used to foster cats and I let the children name any kittens. One got adopted and they kept the name: ‘Thingy’ 😁

Pudmyboy · 12/08/2025 20:29

@BusyFrizzyLizzie I knew someone who had a black and white Border collie, called him Ginger because he enjoyed the confusion it caused...

magpie234 · 12/08/2025 20:37

Team Loveheart Glitter or LG for short over here

George and Mildred

This ^ Loveheart Glitter is awful! 😖 Have some posters been at the cooking sherry?! 😆

George and Mildred was not a racist 1970s sitcom @BusyFrizzyLizzie It was really funny, and well worth a watch.

Gorgeous kittens by the way! 😍

That was my first thought too. Gary Glitter! Shock
