Ours likes plastic springs. His all time favourite is this lizard which we attached to the string of the da bird he had destroyed.

Whatever you get her, make sure it comes in a cardboard box!

Have you got a ball track? My 5-year-old cat plays with it by herself but also likes it when we push the ball to each other. She loves her tunnel as well.

A paper bag from Primark or a small box .

GCITC · 29/11/2024 22:00

Carrier bags and plants she can chew on

No33 · 29/11/2024 22:02

Catnip

DuckDuckG00se · 29/11/2024 22:03

Anything but what you get them

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 29/11/2024 22:04

One of mine has a duck. It came from Wilkinsons (RIP).

She was so enamoured with this duck I bought a spare just in case.

The spare was a reject. Both his legs fell off, she had no interest in Legless Duck so he went in the bin.

Original Duck lives on.

She’s getting older now and doesn’t play as much so just sits with on paw on him, protecting him from danger.

But for cat gifts you can’t go wrong with a laser pen.

A brown paper bag on the floor - one per cat.
Newspaper open at the crossword page.
A pile of clean and very slightly damp laundry.
Some chicken bones out of the bin.

There you go.

😆 this!

Mine is getting washing up sponges. To try and stop him nicking them!

Scutterbug · 29/11/2024 22:19

Mine plays for ages with a tiny strip of cardboard that fell off a box when I opened it!

But otherwise, catnip. All the catnip.

101Kittens · 29/11/2024 22:21

Crinkle bags, cat nip kickers and the boxes other people's gifts arrived in/the gift bags they attempted to go into.

Cardboard floor scratchers always go down well too.

ETA Ferrero Rocher - roll up three of the foils in a ball. Two of mine will steal the chocolates if this isn't the first course of action.

AnnaMagnani · 29/11/2024 22:23

Cardboard box
Cardboard scratcher
Catnip anything if sensitive to it
Tower if energetic. Non-energetic cat just sits in the lowest level.

Ultimate gift - cat tunnel

Mishmashs · 29/11/2024 22:24

Mine likes a hair bobble. And a freshly unpacked Tesco carrier bag, when it’s waiting to be put back in the car boot.

SleepingisanArt · 29/11/2024 22:26

Nothing! He doesn't like things for cats but will happily scoff some roast beef (rare) on the day. So that's what he's getting this year!

felinelucky · 29/11/2024 22:36

One of those three-way cat tunnels. Mine absolutely adores lurking inside and then erupting out to catch Da Bird if I dangle it at one of the openings.

Breadcat24 · 29/11/2024 22:38

crinkly cellophane type plastic
lots of licky licks
fresh warm roast chicken

Toddlerteaplease · 29/11/2024 22:40

Mollies mice or plastic springs. Not that Penelope will play with any of them. But all my other cats loved Mollies mice.

Conniethecatapillar · 29/11/2024 22:42

Mine likes things that mimic a mouse tail so I give her the plastic bit that runs around the top of the chewing gum bottle, she is definitely a little weirdo and she will play with it for ages! She also likes the plastic pipe cleaners that come ina toddlers sippy cup !

JemOfAWoman · 29/11/2024 22:43

A dog!

Hair bobbles, a pine cone, plastic medicine spoon.... Mine have a large kong kicker they love, with a fluffy tail and a mouse on an elastic string. Newest toy that keeps them entertained is this slow feeder thing!

Oh and a butterfly thing that spins around, that gets lots of play!
