Handhold for GingerCat (and me) please

I’ve just had to rush the ginger one down to the vets. He was pawing at his mouth and bleeding.

They’ve found a mass in his mouth and are doing a biopsy this afternoon. It’s not looking good.

His dad is on the way back from the US and doesn’t land until later.

Can I have a handhold please? He’s the loveliest of cats.

He's a lovely boy.

All here holding your hand and sending healing thoughts for your beautiful cat.

Well he’s recovered well from his anaesthetic and getting plenty of cuddles at the vets.

My lovely vet has managed to remove most of the visible part of the mass which should make him more comfortable.

It does look like there is spread into his tongue and jaw and another small spot on the other side of his mouth. Biopsy results should be back towards the end of the week.

On the plus side, he’s still well in himself. He hasn’t lost any weight and is still eating and moving quite happily. Both the vet and I think the mass was annoying rather than painful.

It looks like we won’t have as much time with his as we thought. I genuinely thought he’d go on into his twenties - demanding dreamies and cuddles for lots more years to come.

It would be amazing if the biopsy results were more positive but I’m not expecting it.

Thank you all so much for the hand - and paw - holds. You’ve all been amazingly kind and it’s been a very difficult day.

My friend's cat had something that sounded very similar, she thought that was it. They did a partial removal as they couldn't get it all, he has drugs, and seems as happy as ever 9 months on. It doesn't seem to bother him at the moment, and he's out and about living his best life. Still hand holding for the results, but there can be positive outcomes even without full removal.

The ginger one is home and stoned off his tits. He’s eaten 2 pouches of food (one at the vets) and is currently mesmerised by Corrie.

Oooh he's so gorgeous. I love his face so much I could eat him 😊 (obviously as I haven't eaten my own cats he's actually quite safe!). I will keep everything crossed for his results.
