New thread for the inmates of Toddler Towers. Strange to think, it's about two completely different cats, from the original
Thread. But Magic, Maia and Cheddar will never be forgotten.

Too many treats, not enough exercise, or is he being greedy and stealing Pen's dinner, lol?

Toddlerteaplease · 19/08/2024 10:20

@ both!

To be fair, though, he's very active.

They've both slept on the bed peacefully for the last few nights.poor spade wanted to sit on me this morning. But Penelope was growling at him, and getting very upset. Poor boy, he's starting to learn when she's upset and 9/10 times will back off. I did tell Pen than my sympathy was wearing thin, as he's not doing anything wrong!

Pads, not spade!

Poor Pads. Good to see he's starting to get the message though.

Toddlerteaplease · 20/08/2024 14:35

The little grey hippo on the look out for her elephant of a brother. She has also now started backing down, when she's having a go at him. So that's progress. She's get her self so wound up she'd poo. Moving the feliway has really helped. Why did t I think of that before.

so lovely I hope they eventually get on

Toddlerteaplease · 21/08/2024 22:39

Thought I heard fisticuffs in the bathroom. So went it to find them both looking like butter wouldn't melt. 😂😂

So cute. A negotiation was obviously taking place :)

Toddlerteaplease · 21/08/2024 23:21

It didn't last long! Has to break up some fisticuffs. Neither sen bothers by it though.

Renewed the felines insurance the other day. Bizarrely Pads's is significantly more expensive than Penelope's they've given me a discount. But I really can't understand why his is so much more. He's younger and had no claims!

He's male. It's the default assumption by insurers that male cats get into more fights when they are out so cost more than females to insure, and the fact he is indoor only has no influence on this.

I argued that when I first got Boycat & Girlcat, then argued the point that if the cost was based on his chances of getting into a fight, then surely they should both cost less as they never went out.

But "computer say no" (sigh).

Toddlerteaplease · 26/08/2024 20:45

@Allergictoironing if they met him, they'd know he won't get into a fight. 😂😂. Penelope had taken to sleeping in the bathroom. She seems much more relaxed when she does that. And will happily go into the spare room for food. Instead if me carrying her in. So I'm hoping that's progress. They will both sleep on the bed though.

Toddlerteaplease · 27/08/2024 09:52

More progress. I head Pen growling at Pads in the spare room. She'd gone in by her self. He sat on the bed and she ate her breakfast, I sat next to her. She was a bit nervous eating near him, but he was just watching her, not moving.

@Toddlerteaplease maybe they do insurance by weight?

Defiantlynot41 · 27/08/2024 21:38

No, it's just empirical data! Males have a higher claim frequency if I recall correctly from my days as an insurance underwriter.

Toddlerteaplease · 27/08/2024 22:26

@Defiantlynot41 I think my 4 girls might change that data. 🤣🤣🤣 just managed to capture this. Paddington is currently charging around after an insect. And she's watching him, I can tell she's wondering WTF he's doing.

Well that is THE cutest picture ever of Miss P

ElizabethanAgain · 28/08/2024 08:40

Oh my goodness! She's so tiny! I love her to bits. ❤️You are so lucky Toddler! Hopefully the two Ps will adapt to each other soon.

Breadcat24 · 28/08/2024 09:48

she is beautiful- glad her eyes seem to have cleared up

Toddlerteaplease · 28/08/2024 11:53

Fingers crossed. We think it may have been caused by her steroid ear drops. Her ears were ok on the last check, so hopefully they'll stay like that. They are not supposed to be used long term. And she'd been in them 6 months. Although only once weekly.

Toddlerteaplease · 28/08/2024 11:54

Paddington has started to back off when she growls at him. So he's hopefully getting the message. She's not getting quite as wound up either. Touch wood.

Spent ages looking for Madam, and discovered she has a new hiding place. Behind the door in the spare room. I think this counts as progress!
