New thread for the inmates of Toddler Towers. Strange to think, it's about two completely different cats, from the original
Thread. But Magic, Maia and Cheddar will never be forgotten.

I will say, I hope you got your money back Toddler? You said it was £650 for a cat from them wasnt it?

Toddlerteaplease · 22/11/2024 14:14

I said they could keep it. It was £350 for pads and £250 for Dotty. The both brought me much joy In The time I had them. Especially Pads. And they are really struggling.

Don’t believe everything the rescue tells you, they’re full of shit, happy to home to unsuitable homes and take the cash. They make more for dealing in pedigree cats, while propping up bad breeders who abuse these cats until they can no longer breed. Quite the business. Bastards.

Do you have proof of any of the accusations you've made about the rescue? And if so have you reported them to the RSPCA? They may not do anything but if you feel that strongly about them surely you must have tried to do something about it.

Maybe it's easier to kick anonymously kick someone when they're down though 🙄

Cailleach1 · 22/11/2024 22:10

Ah, I’m really glad that Paddington has found someone to play with. Also, I think it’s great that Dotty had respite from the confines of the Rescue. It kind of rehabilitated her and gave her confidence. It just may have worked out, if X,Y or Z hadn’t happened. But it was a hopeful punt, which just didn’t work. .

I’m of the opinion that anywhere where finds homes for these poor cats helps. Even if they aren’t a perfect solution. The breeders won’t change their behaviour if the rescue ceases to exist. It might be even worse for the poor animals. Notwithstanding, I suspect many rescues try their very best, in difficult circumstances I’m sure. I wouldn’t let the great get in the way of the good.

Anyway, I hope Penelope’s eyes are more comfortable and she enjoys her world (house) domination.

@Cailleach1, I agree. May always go on about these rescues encouraging breeders. But Persians do need special care. They are not like other cats. And they provide a safe place for them to go. Also not all of them
Come from breeders, Cheddar and Paddington were both loved pets. And it really showed. They were bomb proof.

Lovely photo. How are her eyes now?

Toddlerteaplease · 26/11/2024 08:58

Looking a bit more normal. One is a bit gunky, but think there is a scab blocking the tear duct. I'm reluctant to get it off though. She's got a follow up tomorrow afternoon with the surgeon.

Toddlerteaplease · 26/11/2024 10:30

She's got wise to the eye drops routine, she's currently sitting under the bed. As she knows it really difficult for me to catch her if she does that.

I'll stay here until you move your hand towards the eye drops!

Fingers crossed the surgeon says no more eyes drops!! Good luck Pen 🍀

Allergictoironing · 27/11/2024 05:56

Try keeping the eye drops in your pocket (or tucked in your bra if no pockets!). That way you can move in on her & pin her with one hand while you open the drops with the other.

She's now under the bed. Wish me luck in extracting her. She's going for her post op check.

Girlcat tried that a couple of times with me. Then I worked out that I could flush her out by blasting the hairdryer under the bed! 😈

Pixiedust1234 · 27/11/2024 18:05

Haha Allergic. I have a divan bed so no hiding under it but I can confirm the faintest hairdryer noise does seem to have an effect on them. With my previous rescue just picking it up meant she left the room pronto despite never putting it on or wafting it anywhere near her.

Oo that's worth a try!! Great news. The Ophthalmologist is very happy with Pen. No need for any more drops or treatment! Her cornea has improved loads.
