New thread for the inmates of Toddler Towers. Strange to think, it's about two completely different cats, from the original
Thread. But Magic, Maia and Cheddar will never be forgotten.

And neither rescue is taking more cats.

I do think you need to give Pen a bit more time to decompress & remember she's No 1 cat, rather than importing another right away.

Sadly there will be more over time, there always is 🙄

CaliforniaSunset · 01/10/2024 14:31

Just read through this thread. What a shame it didn't work out. I hope Paddington is ok.

Pen definitely needs time after all the stress she's been through, the responsible thing to do is to give her that time you know that so don't rush it.

The rescue don't know that it's an ideal match, it's just guesswork and very unreasonable for them to tell you that you'll have no issues. I work in a rescue and we would never say that. You just never know how two cats will get on living together until they are. You definitely need to give it a few months at least.

Chilling watching GBBO.

Looking very relaxed there. She couldn’t be any cuter, could she?

Scampuss · 01/10/2024 21:45

Just catching up Toddler, so sorry it didn't work out, but it must be lovely to see Penelope relaxing.

Toddlerteaplease · 02/10/2024 10:39

No ideas what's happened to mr hand in that picture!

I've said to the rescue that Penelope isn't ready for another cat. I'm really sad , she would have been perfect I think. But Penelope is still quite nervous. She's much better but not there yet.

I think that’s the right decision.

It’s good to see her starting to relax again.

learieonthewildmoor · 02/10/2024 14:04

Seeing Penelope being so happy and confident will help cheer you up. You’re giving her the best home she’s ever had.

Toddlerteaplease · 03/10/2024 18:40

Penelope has been shouting at me from between the bannisters, one of her favourite vantage points. She's now downstairs and eating!

That's great to hear!

Cailleach1 · 03/10/2024 21:19

Great news.

Lovely 😻

LadyGrillingSole · 04/10/2024 09:11

It seems like the little lady is getting back to her old self 😍

Soubriquet · 04/10/2024 09:56

Oh I bet you’re so pleased she’s back to normal x

Toddlerteaplease · 04/10/2024 10:52

I am. I'd forgotten what a demanding little madam
She is. 🤣

OP posts:
Soubriquet · 04/10/2024 12:44

I guess this shows she’s happier being a single cat

Toddlerteaplease · 04/10/2024 13:26

Think she's fine with girls.

OP posts:
Soubriquet · 04/10/2024 13:28

Are you going to try a little girl?

CaliforniaSunset · 04/10/2024 13:44

Bless her. I wouldn't risk another cat with her after what she's been through and how happy she seems now. Too much of a risk to upset her again and possibly have to re home another cat.

Toddlerteaplease · 04/10/2024 14:15

I will do in a few months time. She was fine with Cheddar, it's just boys she has an issue with.

OP posts:
Scampuss · 04/10/2024 14:40

She might have been fine with Cheddar as she was already there.

CaliforniaSunset · 04/10/2024 14:59

Yes. There's no guarantee that she'll be ok with all girls just because she was ok with one. And the next cat might not be ok with existing cat. It would be risky. Our rescue wouldn't advise it if we knew a cat had had to be rehomed already.
