He took to you almost straight away, didn't he? That suggests he's a cat who just loves people, and will be happy with anyone who treats him right. He'll be glued to them before you know it. Obviously you'll miss him but an easy-going fellow like him should be comfortable anywhere. Try and think of your time with him as an extended foster period that always had to come to an end.

Finally got through to the rescue. He's going back on Saturday. They've offered me a tiny submissive girl who loves cats. But I'm really not sure at the moment. Might be best to wait for a while and let her decompress.

I'm very sad. But glad I have a plan now. I would have preferred him to go to these other people. But it is what it is.

@SoDoffYourHat she apparently came as part of a group of 16. She's apparently loves other cats and is very submissive to the. At she's sharing with. She's very cute. But I need to tread very carefully. I'm really not sure. And I'm in no rush for another. Pen currently seems much happier.

She's not a lap cat. She's a cats cat apparently. And I do love a lap cat.

@SoDoffYourHat he needs a playmate, that's been the biggest issue. He just wanted to play with her.

@Sandwichgen I couldn't do that to her. She's my little tiny poppet. And she's actually very bonded to me, more than he is. It was suggested more than once that I would have to choose, who was the right cat for me. Because she's cost me a fortune!

I have always wanted a friend for Gizmo, however it is very apparent that she will only ever cope with being an only cat. I suspect it is the same for Pen.

@Bagpuss1200 she was great with Cheddar. They were absolutely In cahoots with each other to gang up on me!

Could it be that Cheddar was already the resident cat and therefore the boss as such. When she died, Penelope became the resident cat and then got used to being alone. Then a new cat was introduced and didn’t follow her rules

Penelope came from a multi car household. So I don't know. I'll not make a decision about the other one. Unless I'm sure she'll be ok
