Can I tell you about him? He's been gone over a week and hope is fading for his return, I've done all the normal things, fingers crossed but in the meantime I am missing:
When he curls up in a circle on my lap and looks up adoringly whenever I stop stroking
When he shouts the house down if a door is shut that shouldn't be or if I'm taking too long to fill his dish
When he stretches out his front legs in front of him and they look 5 times as long as the rest of his body.
When he "kills" his toy by grabbing it and attacking it with his back legs.
When he follows us round and calls for attention when he's bored and wants to play
When he gets the zoomies round the garden and ends up half way up a tree... the surprised look on his face!
I could go on, I miss him 🙁
No point in this thread, sorry x

Oh I'm so sorry to hear this, but don't give up hope! Check out other threads on missing cats. I think most come back, but of course sadly some don't.

Will be praying for you.

CurlewKate · 01/11/2023 17:50

I have a wanderer. The last time she wandered she was gone for 13 days. Don't give up yet.

Motnight · 01/11/2023 18:03

He sounds like a real character. I really hope that he returns home.

TwigTheWonderKid · 01/11/2023 18:05

Please don't give up hope. I'm sure you've done everything but some people recommend putting out his litter tray so he can smell it and what ofen works is going out to call for him as it's getting dark rather than in the day time.

Do keep us updated.

GettingSickOfYourNonsense · 01/11/2023 18:12

You've probably done these things, but anyway -

Ring every vet and animal shelter, up to 10 miles away.
Print off pictures of him, add details, put them (in a plastic envelope) on every other lamppost on your streets and 2 streets either side of yours.

Put the posters through doors, in shops, library, GP surgery, leisure centre.
Ring RSPCA, PDSA, the local council (the department that deals with removing dead animals from roads (if he is dead, at least you'd know)
Post details on FB, Twitter, etc.

My son's cat once went missing, and we did ALL of those things. The little sod turned up 3 WEEKS later (thin, tired, grubby and hungry). She'd apparently been locked in a shed at the local primary school.

Allthecatseverywhereallatonce · 01/11/2023 18:13

Keeping everything crossed for you. My kitten went missing for a few days but luckily returned so, I know how it feels.
He sounds like a lovely kitty.

Crazycatlady202020 · 01/11/2023 18:15

I really hope that he returns soon x

verdantverdure · 01/11/2023 18:17

Our boy got spooked and ran for the hills but somebody spotted him and we got him back.

Let us know if we can share anything for you. Fingers crossed.

Ibravedaflood · 01/11/2023 18:17

Is it half term in your area op? What measure have you already done?

Blueberrycreampie · 01/11/2023 18:19

Have you posted in as much social media as you can? In our area we have next door and a lost cats Facebook site, and also lots of surrounding village sites.

ginasevern · 01/11/2023 18:21

OP, I really feel for you. Put his litter tray out along with some food and water at night. Also call him at night, every night. Call vets and rescue centres and also check FB page for lost and found pets in your area. You could also post on there with a picture.

ginasevern · 01/11/2023 18:23

Also meant to say, ask neighbours to check sheds, garages, greenhouses etc if you can.

MrTiddlesTheCat · 01/11/2023 18:28

I have 2. The youngest is an idiot and got himself locked in at the local health centre. Was 11 days before they noticed and called me (I'd put flyers everywhere). The next time was for 7 days. The third time I went round after 2 and they found him for me.

My other one went missing for 10 weeks. I have no idea where she was. She just rocked up looking like a cast member of The Walking Dead. She only did it once.

Daleksatemyshed · 01/11/2023 18:29

He sounds like a lovely boy, all cats have their lovely little quirks. I hope he comes home soon Op

LauraNorda · 01/11/2023 18:33

I hope he comes back soon.

Igmum · 01/11/2023 18:34

He sounds fabulous. Sending love and good vibes ❤️. Our girl cat had a few nights away, I suspect after getting herself locked in somewhere interesting and small (she has form for this). Hope you get him back soon

AuntieJoyce · 01/11/2023 18:35

He sounds fabulous-I hope you get him back soon Flowers

Blueberrycreampie · 03/11/2023 11:49

Any sightings at all - hope he's back soon!

allnewname · 04/11/2023 12:51

Sadly no sightings. 😢
Thanks for all the suggestions... we're not giving up but hopes are fading...

They usually come back. Mine did after more than a month.

MyMILisLovely · 04/11/2023 13:50

DCat was very thin and weak when he came back, but was back on form after a few weeks.

DNeighbour's very cute kitten was missing for over a year and was found a few miles away, and at some point had had an injury. The cat is still around.

Cailleach1 · 05/11/2023 22:12

My girl was missing for nigh on 3 months. We tried everything. Knocked on every house on nearby streets. Put posters up on same. Phoned vets and rescues. We caught our breath at every cat we saw crossing, or walking along the road.

One day, the little hairpin unexpectedly wandered in the cat flap and squeaked for food. She was skin and bones, but nothing else was wrong with her. She is now a rather 'full' figured miss. I think I overcompensate with treats because of what happened. I have to stop that. She was over one year old when it happened. She is now six years old.

applebee33 · 06/11/2023 17:22

Oh Op I hope you find your cat. We lost one of our girls about 6 yrs ago we brought a male kitten home and she was so put out she left about a month later and never came back, we we're heartbroken and I still miss her. And wonder what happened to her

puritascordis · 08/11/2023 21:20

Our cat went missing on 15 October and we woke up this morning and there he was - 24 days later. All skin and bone... no telling what happened, but we had given up hope too. Fingers crossed yours comes back; there's definitely still a chance.

MrShady · 13/11/2023 00:19

My friends cat has just returned. After six months missing. Wandered in to the stables where she lives and yelled for food
