Adopting Magic

We are adopting a cat from the RSPCA, we pick him up on Saturday. He is 3 and was brought to the centre as a stray ( with some injuries). Any tips for settling him in?

Is his name magic? My late girl had the same name. I hope he gives you as much happiness as my Magic gave me.

Be guided by him. If he hides, leave him too it. On the other have he might want to explore the whole house. Get the best insurance you can!

Don't put the food or water near each other and make sure they are not near the litter tray. Feed him the same as the rescue centre.

He will probably hide for a day or two. This will probably freak you out. Also don't assume that the timid creature will stay that way. Within a few weeks you will be well and truly under the paw.

Don't buy a cat bed, a cardboard box with an old jumper in it will be fine.

Be aware that a cat that wants to escape will do. You'll need to keep Magic indoors for a few weeks, so that he gets to know it is his home.
When you first let him out, do it when he's not been fed for a bit - you'll be worried sick.

You'll think that you are adopting a toddler but he'll turn into a teenager once he's found his feet. We'll be expecting photos. It's compulsory.

This is Magic, he is adorable and so clever. He loves cuddles and then wanders upstairs for a wee nap, he loves lying with his head on your arm. We are just following his lead, he is eating well and using his later tray and we love him already 😍

Is that a thing? I've always fed cats with the bowls next to each other.

It's a thing with the cats I've owned. They've not touched water next to the food bowl. If the food bowl is near the litter tray, they'll go elsewhere, usually a corner.
