Is it normal to feel this way?

I have wanted a British Blue all my life, I never wanted to rush out and get one, I wanted the time to be right, It just so happens that its taken over 30 years to get there lol

I'm single, no kids and work from home, that will not change, I rarely go on holiday and generally only really go out to get my shopping etc so I have the time.

I have everything ready, I have toys, a bed, scratching post, bowls etc etc and a local vet that is five minutes away, I also have the money put aside for the kitten, I have been looking for a long time and today I found him, I'm going to view him on wednesday. I have pics if anyone wants to see!

I'm suddenly panicking thinking I am about to make a big mistake and I genuinely don't know why I feel this way, This is something I have always wanted. Is it normal to feel this way or is it a sign I shouldn't do this?

Havent read everything cos on my way out but you are perfectly normal, it's a big undertaking to meet someone who is going to be wonderful and in your life for years.

If no-one else has already suggested it, make sure that your baby is insured BEFORE you get her. Or insure her and don't take her to the vet for a couple of weeks (not recommended)

Pet insurance doesn't kick in until it has been going for two weeks, so if something was found at first vet meeting it wouldn't be covered. Often breeder or rescue will arrange it before you take the pet, probably for this reason.

Don't mean this to be a downer, just think the better the insurance the less likely you are to need it!
Enjoy your baby xx

He's beautiful. His eyes match your sofa exactly. I think he could be Leon.

He’s gorgeous ❤️
I have two British shorthairs, a blue (adult) and a colourpoint (kitten) and they are the sweetest cats. Go for it!

Loving all the cat pics!
Our 20 year old lady was sadly put to sleep on Sunday and we really miss her. We brought her home to sleep under her favourite bushes in the garden.
At some point, we will probably get another cat but they have to feel right and have their own personality!! They most definitely will not be a replacement cat so need to impress us with their looks and unique character but we are in no rush and when the time and the cat is right for us - we'll be ready. 🐈

Still not sure on a name yet, Going to have a think about it over tonight.

My grey was called Maigret like the detective pronounced May Grey.

I named my British Blue 'Stilton' like the cheese. Now have four other 'cheeses'
