Now it's her turn to cause issues. She's always been a sucky cat but had it under control with a change of food etc. She's been sick about 6 times this week. Which is unusual. She's completely fine in her self. Full of beans and eating and drinking as normal. If she was at all unwell I'd be straight at the vet. But she's not. Any suggestions on over the counter stuff to help?

Exhausting morning. The towel is to protect the sofa!

Got some Omeprazole for Cheddar to see if that settles her tummy.

Snap! I have to take that every day too

Toddlerteaplease · 21/02/2023 17:46

@Soubriquet I suspect yours is cheaper!

Consider i get nhs exemption prescriptions….yeah.

Been taking them for years. Pity it’s probably not cat friendly or I could have sent you some

Toddlerteaplease · 21/02/2023 18:23

I could have nabbed some from work. I'm sure Magic would like the banana flavoured antibiotics 🤣

Poor baby, she really does look exhausted 😥

Aww ... hope the meds work.

ComeTheFckOnBridget · 21/02/2023 19:17

@Toddlerteaplease do you crochet?

Toddlerteaplease · 21/02/2023 19:19

@ComeTheFckOnBridget not really. Unfortunately. I'd love to be able to. My sister made that for me. She's ridiculously talented at all wool related things.

It's great - was just admiring it! I am novice crochet-er with big ambitions but too easily distracted to make them happen 😄

How is cheddar now? I always keep a supply of prokolin paste cheaper than buying at the vets, toddler....even with my discount! I use that if any of mine get the squits.....3 days and back to hard poops. But I see cheddar was vomiting. Poor soul, I hope she's feeling better.

LostCats · 22/02/2023 18:45

How is the orange tummy today? Do hope she’s feeling better.

Toddlerteaplease · 23/02/2023 04:19

She's not been sick since 6am Monday morning. (Touch wood) she is eating, but neither of them are eating much. However I wonder if it's because I've been sprinkling the probiotic powder on their food. So have stopped that. And will mix it in with cat soup or lik e lix, which funnily enough they have no issue eating. 🙄 she is an absolute bugger at taking tablets. So will give her 5 days of Omeprazole and keep the rest for the future.

She's fine in herself, she's started demanding cuddles when I'm trying to get up and showered in the morning. And puts her paws on the side of the bath. It's super cute.

I se my local pet ship seeks that paste. So I'll get some. It was helpful when she had colitis.

Mine likes the sainsburys basic frozen white fish fillets and I gently steam them for him.
Blimey writing that makes him sound spoilt which is good because he is 😊

😂”Spoiled bastard” was a Viz character
I think my Whippet eats better than me!
I cook chicken and broccoli for her -

Poor baby..
It’s awful seeing an unwell pet.
Hope she is feeling better .

Kidney issues are common in older cats ( parents’ cats both had kidney issues in older life
It can be helped with specific diet that helps take strain off their kidneys.

Toddlerteaplease · 23/02/2023 05:09

@oakleaffy yes. If she doesn't improve, I'll get her bloods done. Though she's otherwise her usual self with no other symptoms.

I spotted a tube of liver pâté in the pet shop. They want to eat it, but are struggling with the texture and can't quite work out how to eat it.

OP posts:
Toddlerteaplease · 23/02/2023 08:29

They've eaten about half the food that was out. Not much again in the litter tray. 🤔

OP posts:
Pixiedust1234 · 24/02/2023 00:57

It can take a couple of days going from one end to the other if they've been emptied by vomiting or diarrhoea. Keep an eye on their fluids/wee though.

Hopefully by day 3 of meds things should be setting down and you'll be back to a full and stinking litter tray Flowers

Toddlerteaplease · 24/02/2023 22:33

@Pixiedust1234 you are right. Both girls have their appetites back and normal service is resumed. 😬😷

Allergictoironing · 25/02/2023 07:38

Phew, that's a relief! I was so worried about the poor love. Enjoy the litter tray - has to be better than cleaning vomit off the floor/carpet/chairs/bed etc!

Toddlerteaplease · 25/02/2023 09:13

There was a bit of sick yesterday. But could have been either of them.

Currently trying to relax in a hot bath. This is my current view. She's hilarious when I'm in the bath. She clearly thinks I'm mad.
