Now it's her turn to cause issues. She's always been a sucky cat but had it under control with a change of food etc. She's been sick about 6 times this week. Which is unusual. She's completely fine in her self. Full of beans and eating and drinking as normal. If she was at all unwell I'd be straight at the vet. But she's not. Any suggestions on over the counter stuff to help?

‘But Mummy!! Why????’

Toddlerteaplease · 26/02/2023 08:08

Her face when I dropped a bath bomb in was even funnier.

Helping me revise for a course next week. Though she was sick again.

That's not good. Have you tried adding any furball paste to her diet?

Toddlerteaplease · 28/02/2023 18:50

It doesn't seem to be furballs. Neither of them get them. But worth a try.

My sweet girl very rarely threw up an actual furball but did throw up food and bile. This was because it couldn't get past the furball properly as it was a partial obstruction. The paste made it more slippery? so everything went through iyswim and the fur eventually came out the other end.

She did prefer a small portion of royal canin furball biscuits than paste but some cats like it.

Clarich007 · 28/02/2023 19:37

Aww those feet! 😁

Toddlerteaplease · 28/02/2023 21:28

Have ordered some malt hairball paste. Which no doubt she'll turn her nose up
At. (If she had a nose to turn up that is!)

If you ordered either a lot, or the expensive one, then I guarantee she won't like it. Hopefully your other kitty does and Cheddar gets jealous enough to want some herself. You know its true 😂

Toddlerteaplease · 28/02/2023 23:18

I'm hoping to be able to pass it if as lik e lix!

Back to square one. She's been sick 3 times in 24 hours. Will try the hairball paste and if that doesn't work. I'll get her bloods done.

OP posts:
LostCats · 01/03/2023 15:59

Oh no! I do hope the paste works

Toddlerteaplease · 02/03/2023 14:50

She seems to like it, as long as I hood the bowl for her. She's struggling to eat it as the bowl moves! Got a quote for bloods. £250!! So I hope this does the trick!

That might be for all bloods rather than targeted. If you aren't insured then mention it and ask if there is any way it can be cheaper. The reason they do all is to save you having to go back for the other tests if these show nothing, plus double consultation fees and double blood taking fees, etc. Sometimes you save, sometimes you don't.

Hopefully you are insured though. Good luck!

ComeTheFckOnBridget · 02/03/2023 23:54

...have you tried a raised, tilted bowl? Sometimes helps with sicky cats.

oakleaffy · 03/03/2023 01:49

Oh no..Poor Cheddar.

Re bloods..My Whippet puppy was found with a bunch of grapes triumphantly between her paws.

Grapes can be toxic to dogs, so off to the vets I went..Emetic, bloods, £280

I am insured now, but insurance is very expensive, but I dare not be uninsured.

I hope Cheddar's bloods come back clear, and that her vomiting is caused by something like a hairball.

Out of interest, does she play with toys?
I witnessed a cat once while volunteering at a Vet's many years ago that had swallowed a part of blue silicone cat ball, and the wretched thing had lodged in the cat's stomach with dire consequences.
The owners had left it so long before bringing him in, the wretched ball had caused a necrotic hole in the cat's stomach, causing peritonitis.

Cats can be bad at swallowing stuff they shouldn't.

We had a Siamese cat as a child who used to eat those rubbery toy snakes, and he would then vomit them up.
Back then, I had no idea that they could potentially cause harm.

I hope Cheddar feels better soon. x

There was a bit of sick yesterday. But could have been either of them.

Ah, the joy of having two similar sized animals.. ''Who did the sick??''
Both point to the other ''She did!''
''He did!'' as neither wants to risk going to the vets.

Toddlerteaplease · 03/03/2023 08:51

@ComeTheFckOnBridget yes we've got that. It really helped. Yesterday it was magic who was sick, so now I'm wondering how much has been Cheddar.

Madam was sick yesterday after cat soup. Decided to get her bloods done. As just can't relax about her. Even though she's fine in herself. 🤞🏼 they are all fine

OP posts:
LostCats · 14/03/2023 16:23

Could it be the soup?
I was terribly excited to give it to Boone.
He vommed down the back of the radiator 5 mins after and we had to abandon the room for days.

Toddlerteaplease · 14/03/2023 17:33

I think it may well be. But i would rather just know that everything is ok.

OP posts:
LostCats · 14/03/2023 17:43

Fair enough

Toddlerteaplease · 14/03/2023 21:46

Bloods all fine! Such a relief!

OP posts:
LostCats · 15/03/2023 10:41

Ah that’s excellent!
So it hopefully is just the cat soup
