We adopted a cat 3 weeks ago after losing our previous kitty.

The new cat is a curious 2 year old who settled in with us super quickly. We started letting her out each day this week to explore the garden.

She was last seen today about 10:30am inside my neighbours house. Seen again by the same neighbour in her garden around 2pm.

I’ve left the back door open all day and have been around the block calling for her & shaking her dreamies bag frequently through the day and in to the evening. No luck so far (but I’ve attracted 3 other cats)! I’ve also put her litter tray outside and sprinkled some of the litter by our back gate (luckily she had just used it before heading out so it was nice and stinky).

Any further tips to get her back?

She’s microchipped but her collar came off in the neighbour’s house. I’m concerned by this as she mistakingly had her ear cut by vets when rescued to identify her as a feral cat even though she’s not feral.

Any reassurance greatly welcomed!

Oh I’m so pleased for you (and her). Fantastic news.

Our cat isn't a wanderer at all, but there's something irresistible to her about vans and cars with open doors. That's good to know for in future!

Amazingly good news.

Wonderful news, she’s a very lucky girl.

TheSquirrelOfDisappointment · 17/02/2023 14:00

Oh thank goodness. SO happy to read that she's home safe. Hopefully she's got the wanderlust out of her system now!

Florissant · 17/02/2023 18:13

Great news!

She’s definitely grounded 🙈on house arrest. She went straight to her food bowl when we opened up the cat carrier last night. Then hoping between my knee and my husband’s knee all evening.

The photo is of her from this morning on her favourite spot - on top of the lizard’s vivarium. Nice and warm!

Her check up at the vet went well. No broken bones but possibly stood on something nasty which is making her limp. Antibiotics and painkillers already helping.

Thank you all again so much! Can’t believe the outpouring of kind words, hopes and prayers.

Thanks MN!!
