Our she is a he!

Just taken our kitten in its proud pink carrier for first jabs and vet confirmed that our ‘peach’ (named by our DD after Princess Peach) is in fact, a boy!

Sex was confirmed at another vets with the breeder and as we’ve only had dogs, was none the wiser. We’ve had HIM (still tripping up on that) for 2 weeks - and we will love him just the same. Plus it’s a funny story to tell, albeit a bit of a shock.

Will definitely need a new name though. Little man is sleeping his rather eventful morning off. Looking forward to telling DD when I pick her up from school and DH can no longer moan about being outnumbered by girls.

We've had exactly the same! I was watching 'her' washing one day and saw something poking out that girl cats definitely dont have. The lady we got him from said he was a girl and two vets said the same. Luckily we'd chosen a name that was ok for girl or boy.

When I was a child, we had a she. We called her Suzy.

When we picked the cat up from being neutered, Dad received a partial refund as neutering a male kitten was much cheaper than a spay!

He was always called Suzy, I don’t think anyone had the heart to change his name.

My girl turned out to be a boy. We kept his name and the pronouns sometimes get switched around a little 😂

I had a 'girl' kitten who, overnight it seemed, grew a massive pair of bollocks! Hasty name change and change of appointment from spay to castrate. He lived to 19 and I still miss him.

Our boy was found to be a girl when he went in for neutering. The sodding vet had been the one to confirm he was a boy in the first place!

Sticking with the Mario theme, Toadie or Bowser would work, but I think he looks like a Luigi.

He is Uber cute. But please keep his name as Peach. 🤣

My childhood cat went through life with a girl's name, not because he was misidentified as a she, but because when my dad brought him home, 4-year-old me said 'I want to call her Jenny', and my idiot parents didn't like to disappoint me by telling me he was a boy. It was months later that they finally told me. By which time of course his name had stuck.

That happened to us. Our 8 week old girl turned out to be a 12 week old boy at first vet visit. He’s a great little guy.

I don’t understand how they can get mixed up, our 11 week old kitten has a giant nut sack, you can’t miss it!

My she cat was called lily. Took to vets to be spayed, turned out he was a boy. He was known as lily with a willy for the rest of his life. 😀

I experienced this the other way round. My two male kittens were playing, and I told one of them off for making his brother make a funny noise. As I moved over to them, it went from "Zorro, let go of your brother's neck" to "Zorro stop trying to shag your brother????" I picked up the brother and realised Zorro had actually been trying to shag his sister. She went to live with my friend till they were both booked in for neutering.

I've had quite a few cats that have turned out to be other sexes than originally thought 😂 it's made for some interesting name choices!

My friend got a boy cat from a rescue only to take him to the vet to be told he was a girl. When she went in to be spayed the same vet decided she was indeed a he again. Had to wait a while to see if his testicles were ever going to pop out before he could be neutered.

Definitely needs a new name, although most cats have multiple names depending on what they are doing. Ours ended up with being called pumpkin a lot although not sure why. Think it was sweetheart to sweetie to sweetie pie to pumpkin pie to pumpkin 😆

There's a character in a Kipling book called Peachy. IIRC he was an adventurer , a chancer, unreliable and always on the make.

Cedric the boy cat turned out to be a girl.
I'm afraid my friend still misgenders her (as him) and the name has stuck too.
We had a boy kitten once who was a girl too 😁.
