What times do you feed your cats?

My neutered male is 7 months old so he is still having three meals a day at the moment at 7am ish, 3pm and 8:30pm (approx).

I'm not sure he will be too happy if this eventually changes to once a day, but I'm hoping to cut out the afternoon meal before he's a year old.

How often do you feed your babies?

@RandomMess That is the exact meal sequence that the QuantumCats follow! I think they've all read the same manual. QC3 is currently demanding Afternoon Snack.

RandomMess · 23/09/2022 15:27

@QuantumWeatherButterfly 🤣 tbf one is a kitten and one a recently neutered ex-stud. The amount they scoff compared to Lady Dainty astounds me on a daily basis.

There is breakfast, 2nd breakfast, morning snack, elevenses, lunch, 2nd lunch, afternoon snack, tea, high tea, dinner, snack, supper, bedtime treat.

😳

You forgot the midnight snack and the dawn pre-breakfast snack! 😂 We have two and their body clocks are about 30 mins different so as one finishes eating the other appears, looks very put out about having been overlooked and demands compensatory treats!!

This has all happened since lock down and wfh... Before that they survived well on two or three meals a day 🤣

I used to feed her a small spoons worth each time she 'asked', my vet recommended that. Now I just refill her biscuits when the bowl is getting low, she doesn't have wet food anymore.

I have a cat who is 12 years old and a kitten of 11 months, its almost her first birthday.
We have a routine, the older cat wakes me up at 6am by patting me on the face so I get up and feed them and come back for a quick doze before I have to get up for work. Then the kitten has to have her cuddle and she likes to suck my fingers for about 10 minutes and make biscuits before I get up.
I feed them wet foot before I go to work, leave dry food down all day which they like to graze on and then more wet food when I get home at 6pm.
They are both the right weight according to the vet and both very active.

According to one of my cats and the next door neighbours cat, not often enough

RandomMess · 23/09/2022 15:50

@AltitudeCheck no midnight or pre dawn snack. They are shut far far far away overnight!!

Dry food from an automatic feeder 5 meals a day including one at 2am in the vain hope that he will not come mewing to me at 4am.

Which one do you use?

Current 'why aren't you feeding me?' face.

@inappropriateraspberry oh my goodness. That kitty is wasting away! Feed the poor thing immediately! 😅

inappropriateraspberry · 23/09/2022 21:34

Post food and now waiting until I go to bed to hit me in the face before I let him under the duvet.
