Won't keep still after being spayed today. We have been told she needs to stay calm and not jump or run around. Well that's not happening. Any ideas? Trying to get a picture.....

The only thing you can do really is confine her to a room without alot of stuff she can jump on. The joys of anasthetic some cats just go loopy rather than lethargic

She's utterly adorablr

Feckin kitten is adorable

No advice, sorry

whirlyhead · 25/08/2022 21:40

I have never to this day managed to get any cat to obey the vets instructions on anything. All have survived so I wouldn’t worry too much. I’m sure she’ll get tired soon enough. She’s very cute though!

YourLipsMyLipsApocalypse · 25/08/2022 21:42

I really want her name to actually be Feckin 😁

It should be, but it's actually Pippin (to go with Merry from Lord of the Rings).

She is adorable, look at those eyes! She is doing amazingly after surgery to be so active. It’s quite impressive. After my episiotomy I was spread eagled for weeks!

TheDogsMother · 25/08/2022 21:46

Awww I had a Feckin kitten that was climbing big trees the day after her 2nd attempt at fully spaying. They missed the full set first time round !

nocoolnamesleft · 25/08/2022 21:46

Not helpful, but have to observe that is a gorgeous cat.

JustTheOneSwan · 25/08/2022 21:46

Buy the vet vest.
Turned mine into a potato.
Just sat on the couch morose and accusing.

TroysMammy · 25/08/2022 21:47

Haribo was sitting on top of my peacock chair after he was neutered. He didn't read the vet's manual either.

Isaidnoalready · 25/08/2022 21:48

Boy cat 3 was high as a kite tried digging in his water bowl then kept trying to cuddle me and slid down me instead 😂 his brothers just slept 😴

froomeonthebroom · 25/08/2022 21:49

She is pretty, but I have to say at the moment I prefer the older one who ignores everyone, spends most of her time outside and is utterly sick of this shit. She reminds me of myself. DH says she is socially inept.

I would love a potato cat!

She's 😍!!!!!!!

JustTheOneSwan · 25/08/2022 21:55

I'm tempted to use it for discipline as well.
She wouldn't walk in it and we had to carry her room to room, lost all her feline grace and just blundered.
Obviously it was hilarious.
Goes without saying she got her revenge and pissed in the wash basket.

Suzysuz · 25/08/2022 21:57

My girl was a bit loopy the same day, she chilled a bit from the next day, whether that was anaesthetic wearing off or the painkiller meds...

Pixiedust1234 · 25/08/2022 22:01

They are both adorable 😍

If your older cat needs a few days away from feckin, I know of a perfect house Grin

Takeitonthechin · 25/08/2022 22:05

Cat nip... this is supposed to calm them down

Beamur · 25/08/2022 22:07

My kittens were bouncing off the walls after they were spayed! It was a nightmare keeping them calm. They were so small and scrawny the vet vests swamped them.

TalkedTooMuchStayedTooLong · 25/08/2022 22:15

My kitten ( now nearly a year old, but still tiny and kitteny) was a nightmare after her spay and wouldn't stay will... eventually had to crate her on vets instructions as her wound wasn't healing properly due to incessant leaping about...is that an option? ( I borrowed a crate from a friends with dogs).

IsJohnReadyToMakeAComeback · 25/08/2022 22:16

All of mine have been crazy after being done. Never found an alternative.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/08/2022 23:00

Our old cat was a bit wobbly after a dental but decided she had to climb the stairs Hmm .
Dh was hovering hehind and she was mincing about shrieking "Bloody catch me you turd , this is All Your Fault "

AmaryllisNightAndDay · 25/08/2022 23:00

My kitties had to wear the Conical Collars of Shame after being spayed. The collars interfered with their whiskers and stopped them moving about much for a couple of days until they re-adapted. They were miserable for those days so I'm not exactly recommending it...
