Won't keep still after being spayed today. We have been told she needs to stay calm and not jump or run around. Well that's not happening. Any ideas? Trying to get a picture.....

This was my twat of a cat when he was neutered. The vet said he would be sleepy ha fucking ha. He climbed the Christmas tree wearing that bloody cone

Hopefully you both survived the night intact.

froomeonthebroom · 26/08/2022 08:14

Feckin kitten did sleep overnight, so that's good. She is now busy murdering any toy/piece of paper/bit of fluff she can get her hands on.

If you do buy a spud suit get a small one for the wee dote.
They don't wear them willingly.

Heronatemygoldfish · 26/08/2022 10:22

oh she is GORGEOUS.

(I'm biased - I've got a white tortie as well, though mine's somewhat more elderly and is fast asleep on the sofa!)

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/08/2022 12:31

There you go op, you’ve just got to wait till she’s elderly to get some peace.

Yoir girl cat does look sick of you all though 😾

Ah Feckin Pippin has beautiful eyes 😍

Your older cat does not have any more fucks left to give. She has very beautiful (and murderous!) eyes

Our old cat was a bit wobbly after a dental but decided she had to climb the stairs Hmm .
Dh was hovering hehind and she was mincing about shrieking "Bloody catch me you turd , this is All Your Fault "

This made me laugh uncontrollably. I keep rereading your post @70isaLimitNotaTarget and can't stop cackling

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/08/2022 15:02

Wonder if the cats think of us like this?

Food lady the wonderful
Spare human
Small annoying humans
Shouty bastard next door who gets really funny about me killing birds.

Mine decided after her spay that her water bowl was for paddling. Kept leaping in it and splashing her front paws like a little threshing machine. You could almost hear the manic BWAHAHAHAHAAA as she did it.

So, yes, some of them go loopy.

Mine does this in the neighbours water feature. Keeps coming in drenched up to his belly Confused
The neighbour even came to apologise when it was broken and tell me to "tell Ollie there is a new one coming tomorrow"
Sure, I'll tell the cat Grin

I understand that his could be a result from the anaesthetic. Some pets can hallucinate after having had a GA. It will wear off after a couple of hours. If not give your vet a call.

HTH

Brilliant! 😂😂😯

Bestcatmum · 26/08/2022 15:53

Mine was exactly the same. Chasing the big cats tail and getting swatted, she was ok though.

AnneElliott · 26/08/2022 16:08

Kitten is adorable! I do wonder about vet advice sometimes.

Once when one of mine had an issue with her paw, he said we had to stand her on the table and put her paw into disinfectant for about 10 minutes a day. I did openly wonder if he'd ever had a cat of his own? Hmm We had to resort to rugby tacking her in the floor and holding on cotton wool on it for about all of 3 seconds before she got loose!

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/08/2022 16:13

I think the advice is more “in an ideal world” than anything. It’s like telling an alcoholic to switch to sparkling water.

Floralnomad · 26/08/2022 16:19

Ours was very active post spay , we put her in one of the vests and took away the tall cat trees so the highest she needed to jump was the sofa / bed .

jennakong · 26/08/2022 20:36

I had a female kitten spayed and the stitches got inflamed (or something) due to leaping about, I had to get antibiotics and administer orally which is not a prospect to be relished with a cat. You would be best putting her in a dog travelling cage with a small litter tray for a few days. Mind you our old cat when I was in my teens ran up a tree the day she got spayed and was fine for years afterwards, maybe they just make more of a fuss now! When feral cats are spayed they are just released with dissolving stitches, I think.
