Apparently I opened the wrong door for him to come through. Sat there for ages. I’m in a bungalow. So I was hanging out an open window that he always climbs through as well. Oh to be a cat

Ancient cat is still insistent that her heated bed stays on, despite the current heatwave

I swapped our ancient cat's cosy blankie for a cooling pad as she has very thick fur and I was concerned about her getting heat stroke.

She climbed on top of the drawers where I moved her cosy blankie to and continued to sleep on it, which is no mean feat at 15 YO.

That's so cute! Mine sits bolt upright in her bed and shouts very loudly until the heat is turned back on.

Mine is insisting on lying ON me. It's not the most comfortable but you know, as long as he is happy Grin

I’m here to say goodbye to you all. Yesterday I was outside with the cat when my husband came home from work. I picked the cat up and waved her paw hi at him. I’m doomed.
i did tell her it was his idea but I’m pretty sure she didn’t buy it. ☠️

It will come when you least expect it.

@PeloAddict my little twinkle toes wraps himself around the front of my neck legs and arms round the back. It is not comfortable. But not sure how long we have left with him. So I’m letting him. I don’t want to get to the point when he is gone and I feel regret for not letting him be near me. Just wish he could be near me from a distance a bit further away

Has anyone seen The Hidden Lives of Pets on Netflix? If not, watch it - it’s great!

I've managed to persuade him to sit next to me, and he just rests one paw on me Grin

Dolly always plonks herself in the hottest room in the house during the hot weather. She's Andalusian - who am I to question her waysConfused

Absolutely. We’re just humans after all.

My parents have a cat visitor who for over 3 years now walks in to their house every day and goes to sleep on their bed, or struts around their house like he owns it.

Now my dad hates cats but has falling in love with this one. They named him Phieffer, and apparently he is a rescue cat who does not like sharing owners with all the other cats they bring home. He lives in the estate behind and has quite a round he goes on every day visiting multiple people who have also fallen for his charms!

Her Majesty Queen of Cats has graciously decided that she will use the red velvet cushion that I , her humble servant, have placed in a cool part of the house. She inspected it for a full week , sniffed it, observed that there were no issues with it that might cause her Royal status to be compromised , and has now slept on it. I trust we are all relieved by this news.

I've given up trying to maintain control in my household.

One of mine loves to walk all over me in the middle of the night and will headbutt my face so I lift the quilt up for her to crawl under (she's actually perfectly capable of crawling under herself but such a princess).

Well last night she comes in and I'm laying on my side so she decides to use my nose as a step to get from one side to the other. I thought I had a normal sized nose, now I'm starting to think it might be bigger than I thought.

MagpiePi · 18/07/2022 06:22

My mums cat hurt her paw and had to be carried up and down stairs. She would sit at the top or bottom holding the sore paw up.
My dad would even carry the cat, and he was not a soft touch when it came to the cat.

This went on for several weeks, and my mum got worried that there was still something wrong with the paw, so took her back to the vet.
Turned out the cat just got to like being carried up and down the stairs, and wasn't going to waste the effort of getting the staff trained up accordingly. . Grin

Many years ago my family had a cat that could open the back doorand let herself in. Sadly she never learnt to shut it behind her

That actually made me laugh.

I normally can’t get rid of my cat. She’s usually all over me and will claw at the duvet to get under it.

Luckily for me, she hates the sound of my fan. So I have been left unmolested by the cat who is currently sat just outside my room glaring at me and sulking
