New kittens, who should we pick?

Ok we as a family are looking for 2 kittens to join our family, we have the option of 2 sets.
First pair are tabby and ginger, both girls and belong to a women, she isn't a rescue, they are cheaper but still expensive I would say in general, they are not pedigree etc they come flead and wormed.
Second set are also girls and both are all black, they are from a rescue and they are dearer but they will be vaccinated, chipped and neutered.
Ok so I am leaning towards the rescue kittens as black cats get overlooked and the money we pay for them will go back to the charity. And the first pair could of been bred for money, and she doesn't seem too bothered about our home set up, think she just wants to make money etc.
But on the flip side we are a good home for these little ones and if she isn't vetting people what happens if they go to people that don't treat them right, the rescue place do check etc.
I'm so confused, help me decide what the best thing to do is, before I end up with 4 cats and my other half leaves me Confused

4 kittens sounds like a great solution!
Honestly, take the biack ones from the rescue. Because 1) black cats get overlooked and because b) its through the charity.
Enjoy your life as a cat slave!

I am pushing my luck with 2 to be honest, there is no way he will agree to 4, even though if it was my choice I would defo get 4.

If you get them from the woman then you are confirming that she can make money so she might use the cat for another litter. Have you looked at how much it will cost you to neuter them as it might not seem like such a good deal then.

Besides black cats are great and their stray hairs don't show up on black jeans!

ISpyCobraKai · 29/10/2021 22:28

The black ones.
I have a wee black cat, she's absolutely adorable in personality.

Lorddenning1 · 29/10/2021 22:30

Yeah the first lot would cost us more money in the long run, they come flead and wormed and 4 week free pet insurance, so at least she has some sort of standard l, but she hasn't asked me one question about our home and where we live etc, just feels like a transaction, like you go to a shop and buy something. I have always got my cats from cats protection so maybe this is what people are like when they sell kittens. We are viewing the black cats tomorrow, and my son thinks it's nice too because it's Halloween.

Do you want some pictures, I could also use some names suggestions.

Black pair because neutering.

ISeeTheLight · 29/10/2021 22:32

Do not buy from the woman; can't stand people who breed their house cats. For all you know she may have some kitten mill set up in her garden.

Rescue all the way.

Yep!

AosSi · 29/10/2021 22:34

Definitely the second pair. Don't fall into the trap of "oh but what will happen to the kittens, the woman doesn't care". If she's a breeder, buying them will only encourage her to breed more - and unless you're going to buy all the kittens she ever has, there'll be suffering kittens out there anyway.

Toddlerteaplease · 29/10/2021 22:35

Definitely get them from the rescue. They'll have been vet checked etc. And please don't encourage back yard breeding.

hamsterchump · 29/10/2021 22:36

I would pick the kittens that seemed most comfortable with you and the owner said had personalities matching what you were looking for. That's what we did with our second when we went to the see the whole litter (our first we got as one of friends had to re-home him). There were two ginger ones tearing around the place and one black and white one who was very timid and I picked the little chubby looking black fluffy one that was happily tucking into a bowl of tuna and the owner described as the most cuddly.

Another vote for the rescues and hell yes please to photos

Definitely the two little black ones, it's Halloween so very much dictated. ...and they are so cute!

HollyandIvyandAllThingsYule · 29/10/2021 22:49

Oh definitely the black ones!🥰🥰

Brusca · 29/10/2021 22:56

Always rescue, otherwise you're part of the problem.

Lorddenning1 · 29/10/2021 22:58

Thank you everyone, you have confirmed what my heart was telling me. I'm so excited to have cats back in our lives again. We are that strange family that try to pet every cat we see when we take our dog for a walk. We are seeing them tomorrow and then we are going to go cat shopping.

Also how cute are the first kittens too, my heart hurts that I can't take them all.
