My tiny, beautiful one year old kitty was killed by a car

She was found at 3am today by the police.

Her brother is walking around the house looking for her.

I don't know what to say here, I just feel so devastated and sad, I can't believe she's gone. I'm so sad that her brother has lost his litter mate and friend. They used to sleep together and groom each other.

So sorry for your loss op..
We lost one of our pair of db's last year... Remaining dcat was depressed.
We got a dkitten.
They bonded instantly.. Best friends in a fortnight..
Obviously not on your mod now but keep it as a possibility..

We had mummy and son kitten and mummy cat was killed by a dog last year. I still cry over her now but kitten has adapted well and is the fluffy love of my life.

I’m not sure whether this would be possible, but when this happened to my friends cat they brought the dead cat into the home andshowed him to his brother, he sniffed him and understood what had happened and stopped searching and settled.

So sorry OP, we lost our gorgeous kitten at that age, she was identical to your boy cat and such a sweetie. We still had the mum and her brother, who both missed her too. 14 years later we just have the brother left. but still talk about gorgeous Zoe and how she left us too soon.

One of mine was killed aged two, so I understand your pain. It's utterly heartbreaking and cruel.

I'm looking through all the photos and videos of her. It doesn't seem real, I feel like I'll hear her come through the cat flap and hear her do her loud 'hello' miaow that she does when she comes in.

I feel grateful for the fact that the vet said she wouldn't have known about it or felt pain, she'd have gone quickly.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post, it's helping. Much love to all of you, especially those who have lost precious kitties in the past.

I'm so sorry. Our beautiful 2 year old fluffy grey cat and 4 year old Bengal cat were killed by cars a year apart. The first was taken to the vets already passed and the second I had to make the decision to pts. They were lovely and they didn't deserve such a sad end.

It will get easier to bear over time, OP, but don't let anyone make you feel that grieving for your pet is pathetic or something to raise an eyebrow at. When you love ANYTHING, grief is the natural response to loss. ThanksThanksThanks

I think increasingly our cats are vulnerable on the roads. More and more traffic and reckless drivers.

Jesus, I'm so sorry. I still miss my black cat that got euthanized 10 months ago and it's horrible.
What is her name? She is stunning! Love her eyes xxx

Oh I'm so sorry OP. My lovely 1 year old girl was run over in 2018 and I think of her every day still. Its such a horrible shock, and so sad when they're so young. We keep our cats in at night now, wish so much we had from the start. Sending Flowers

Find a way to cat proof or catio your garden for your boy.

Please do this. When I was in a town or village my cats were never ever out.

There is no real traffic out here.... small island...else they would be indoors.

So much heartbreak. So sorry OP.

I'm so sorry. It's always heartbreaking to lose them and especially so young and in such a way.

She was beautiful, as is her poor brother. When they are that close it is hard at first for the cat left behind but they do adjust in time.

Look you lot at the percentages of cats on this thread that have been lost to cars. Is it really worth it? Many cats are happy to be ‘inside’ cats or make ‘Catios’ / Catproof your gardens / exits

My own boy died 3 weeks ago after being hit by a car, he was 9. He looked like your boy cat. I miss him so muchSad
