New Kitten After Heartbreak

I dont know how many of you will remember my previous thread on the heartbreak of our young cat who had to sadly be put to sleep due to a muscle wasting condition.

Our young child was devastated as we all were, and asked about her every day. We have been talking about getting another cat ever since we lost her.

Today the day has arrived. I know the rules a photo is attached.

She is currently hiding under the sofa cushions, as I expected!

It's my belief that cats carry out a 'risk assessment' when they arrive in their new home, gathering evidence that all the humans are suitable cat-slaves. Once their standards are satisfied, they come out and play! Congratulations on passing!

She is lovely. Huge ears and paws, I think you have a chunky girl there!

Sorry for all the kitten spam, but this one is well and truly home. Now sleeps between mine and husbands pillows like a human with head out of the duvet and body and legs under. I only brought her upstairs as we needed to hoover downstairs and didn't want her frightened in her safe space (lounge) and she just settled down and went to sleep for 2 hours.

Oh, she's so sweet. A cat in bed is just what you need in winter, as their body temp is one degree higher than ours, so they're lovely and warm.

I did think this! She will be lovely in winter. I just can't believe how settled she is already. She still hides if something startles her but we are only on day 5 and she is only 10 weeks old. She was the kitten we really needed after what happened a few weeks ago with our gorgeous baby that passed away.

Finally got a good picture of her! She is now out and about going wherever she wants, sleeping on the sofas and footstools and also loving paw patrol! She comes running when the theme music starts.

She looks very thoughtful in that picture and I think she's grown a bit since your first pictures so she must be very happy and content! You have a beautiful little cat there!

Gorgeous cat!

Wow great pic. She looks like a little sweetie but I bet there is a dose of mischief in there.

MrsCatE · 15/09/2021 06:35

Ooh, I’m so jealous! Look at her massive back paws! She’s gorgeous x

A lot of mischief! She goes crazy for 2 hours and then sleeps for about 3 or 4 and that's it on repeat 😂 especially when our daughter comes back from school.
