New Kitten After Heartbreak

I dont know how many of you will remember my previous thread on the heartbreak of our young cat who had to sadly be put to sleep due to a muscle wasting condition.

Our young child was devastated as we all were, and asked about her every day. We have been talking about getting another cat ever since we lost her.

Today the day has arrived. I know the rules a photo is attached.

She is currently hiding under the sofa cushions, as I expected!

Congratulations on your new kitten;we adopted one last week;she's clean with toileting but a little monster with everything else.

cushioncovers · 10/09/2021 10:23

Love that last photo 😁😻

cushioncovers · 10/09/2021 10:24

Oh you absolutely cannot move op

sashh · 10/09/2021 10:34

OP

Try wearing a hoody backwards so she can rest in the hood,

ItsSnowJokes · 10/09/2021 10:34

She is now fast asleep head poking out and dreaming as her paws keep twitching and her nose. We were meant to leave at 9.30am to go out for a few hours. I'm still sat with a cat on my boobs 🤣

Aw. That's so adorable.

Papergirl1968 · 10/09/2021 14:14

She is gorgeous. Did her vet appointment go ok?

Brollypackedforscottishholiday · 10/09/2021 14:20

We lost one of 2 db's last year. Poor lad was depressed...
Bonded within a fortnight with a new dkitten. ..

Complete clean bill of health thank god! Had her first jab and back in 3 weeks for second jab and worming tablets. She only weighs 0.75kg so they gave her a tablet for fleas rather than using a spot on as vet says they are better for over 1kg kittens. Hopefully she will be over that in 3 or 4 weeks anyway.

I was very relieved with a clean bill of health! The vets were lovely as it was the same vet who was there at the end before. She knew how hard it was for us all getting another kitten so she really checked her out.

So glad she has the all clear from the vet. And all the pictures are lovely. You are a first class devoted kitten slave.Smile

Papergirl1968 · 10/09/2021 17:56

Great that she got the all clear from the vet. She will be ruling the roost within a few days! Wink

SquirryTheSquirrel · 10/09/2021 18:03

Great news about her all-clear.

If she carries on sleeping between your boobs you're going to need a massive bra when she is fully grown!

Jux · 10/09/2021 19:35

She is so sweeeeeeeet! And healthy too. Whenever we get new kittens, they do always seem to like to sleep in the same place as yours, too. There or they creep under my skirt and hide on my thighs. Dark and warm, I suppose Grin

ItsSnowJokes · 10/09/2021 21:17

We have had playtime tonight out from the sofa! She went crazy out and about for an hour or so.

She is an absolute joy and very slowly coming around to her new home. Litter tray is being used regularly (I can hopefully relax about my new carpet now!) And she is eating well and will eat when we are in the room with her as well. Hopefully in a week or so we will open her up to the rest of the house and she will enjoy the freedom of that.

Oh, she's so beautiful! Glad all was well at her check up!

Pudmyboy · 10/09/2021 23:18

What a pretty little kitty! I hope you have many years of joy with her. Do you have a name yet?

Pudmyboy · 10/09/2021 23:20

( I would vote for Boobarella!)

Duckypoohs · 10/09/2021 23:25

She's adorable and tbf your boobs do look comfy Grin. I have a kitten too, does anyone else's cats do a kind of chirrupping sound? It only once, first thing on a morning like she is saying good morning Confused noone else in the family has heard it.

sashh · 11/09/2021 03:44

@Duckypoohs mine has a chirup she only uses when she is bringing some dead (or occasionally still alive) thing in.

But then she doesn't meow, she usually goes 'Whaaaaaa wha ' I think she's part Bengal

Emelene · 11/09/2021 04:30

She is beautiful! So cute she “nap-trapped” you like a newborn baby. Does she have a name yet? I hope she brings you many years of joy. Smile

ItsSnowJokes · 11/09/2021 07:25

This is outing so I will have to name change but her name is Indiana Jellycat The First (don't ask 🤣) but she is known as Indy. Indy mainly as she was born on Independence Day.

She is gorgeous op. I have the same carpet in my bedroom by the way it's lovely isn't it.

Brollypackedforscottishholiday · 11/09/2021 13:58

Same birthday as me op!!
She is like our Henry on the left as a tiny dkitten!!

So it would seem that today she decreed that we must be OK humans and she will grace us with her presence and make us play with her for hours and hours. Instead of hiding to sleep which she has done since Wednesday, she decided that as we had fed her plain boiled turkey as a treat she would sleep here with us. Just adorable and I am totally in love.
