New kitten dilemma

We have an appointment tomorrow to meet three recently abandoned kittens. They were found on Friday in an empty house by a removal firm who'd gone in to clear out (a repossession, I assume). Bastards, there isn't a hell hot enough.

We lost our previous furbabies in 2017 and February this year (aged 17 and 20) and am really anxious about new cats. I genuinely didn't sleep last night worrying about not being able to love them as much as we did the oldies, and of course, the thought of leaving one on her own, as we have only been looking for two cats who can live together. Kittens never really came up - we were thinking rehoming slightly older.

Should we take all three? They're a boy and two girls, so we're thinking "one of each" as that's what we've had before. They'll find a kitten a home, won't they?

I'm twisted into a knot about this. I'm so sad not to have our boy (yeah, we had him over 20 years and I still want more - aren't I greedy?) and don't feel ready, but I don't think I'll be ready till we have new heart-stealers in the house. Does that make sense?

Wow, well done for taking all three. We took 2 kittens out of 3 previously as the rescue said they had the mum and that they'd keep the mum and 3rd kitten together - so I didn't feel so bad then. I couldn't have left the 3rd one behind on its own though.

RESULT! Congratulations OP, unfortunately I can’t see the PICTURES that the OP has undoubtably posted because she knows full well that PICTURES are mandatory in posts about new kittens.

But I am prepared to wait, for a while.........

@HaroldMeeker

Sorry missed update That’s fantastic, 😻😻

Wolfiefan · 11/07/2021 18:51

Pictures are the LAW on here. But obviously we need to wait until your kitty overlords have settled in!

Blueskytoday06 · 11/07/2021 18:58

YES YES YES 😁

EachandEveryone · 11/07/2021 18:58

Triplets are lovely. I wonder where the mom is? Cant wait to see them.

CloseYourEyesAndSee · 11/07/2021 19:00

Congratulations!!!

30degreesandmeltinghere · 11/07/2021 19:21

Proof or they haven't happened....

MotionActivatedDog · 11/07/2021 19:40

There is a fine for not posting pictures of cats when you start a thread about them. It’s halved if you post them right away Wink

Daisy829 · 11/07/2021 19:43

Ah yay! Congratulations on your new furbabies op. I’m sure they will settle quickly & be bossing you about

Stickytreacle · 11/07/2021 20:21

Well done op! 😼😼😼

HaroldMeeker · 11/07/2021 21:14

Oops sorry re photos. We haven't got good ones but we took these this morning when we met them.

Coco with Eddy hiding behind her. Willow is the most confident and came out to play this morning.

Since arriving home, Willow and Eddy explored, ate and pooed before going to sleep under the wardrobe. Coco went straight under the chest of drawers, where she remains. They're all snoozing for the moment so no more photos I'm afraid!

It looks like the tenants of the property took Mum with them when they left. They just stuck the six kittens in a cardboard box and left them behind. It was a cleaning firm who found them on Friday. The other three were adopted immediately when they were taken to the vets for a check up, but these three have umbilical hernias so the others were picked over them. It's a minor op apparently that can be done at the same times as neutering in a couple of months.

Wolfiefan · 11/07/2021 21:25

Oh so precious!!
They took mum???? Left her babies????
Thank goodness this trio found you. Wishing you many many happy years together.

Myshitisreal · 11/07/2021 21:36

So cute. One of ours died in January, I feel your pain.

They're so cute

GingerFigs · 11/07/2021 21:44

@HaroldMeeker awwww ❤️❤️ just read your thread and pleased you got all 3 as that's what I'd have said too!! Years ago one of my rescue kittens came to me with an umbilical hernia and it was indeed a straight forward op when neutered. Wishing your new cats a long and happy life with you!

30degreesandmeltinghere · 11/07/2021 21:48

Three cheers for you op!!.

M0rT · 11/07/2021 22:02
