I will post a photo just in case anyone is interested. I have never had cats before but dh has. They are 11 weeks old. A boy and a girl. Last of a litter of 6 to go. Rescued, mum was a stray. I am excited for my three children.

How exciting! Kittens are soo cute.

Meant in the nicest possible way, kittens can also be challenging and I had a few moments with mine where I wondered if I'd made a mistake.

The only reason I say that is because after a few months he became a calm, loving cat and all of my doubts disappeared and I now love him more than anything.

So if you do happen to have any tricky moments with the kittens just remember that they will soon be fully grown and much easier.

Theyare so beautiful! and I bet the boy won't stay shy for long.

GulliBelle · 26/06/2021 11:46

I meant girl!

Twokitstwokats · 26/06/2021 11:46

Yes I think they will be mischief!

Gorgeous pair.

Don't worry about the girl being shy. We had two rescue kittens who were very shy initially (the poor little things had come from a litter that had been dumped in a cardboard box) but after two or three days they were happily jumping all over us.

Wolfiefan · 26/06/2021 12:11

Oh too sweet. Watch out for places they can escape to. I never started the washing machine without checking they weren’t in it! We had to block the chimney and the gap under the dishwasher.
And book neutering if not already done!!

Twokitstwokats · 26/06/2021 12:18

Yes we are quickly realising all the places they can hide! Will get on to a vet on Monday.

OMG KITTENS!!!!

ifIwerenotanandroid · 26/06/2021 13:01

They look gorgeous. Enjoy!

Twokitstwokats · 26/06/2021 13:34

Dh popped to the shops and the kittens disappeared! Frightened the life put of me. No sight or sound for an hour. When he got back he used his extra long arm to film a video behind the washing machine. Sure enough, two silent cats!
Apart from that, good as hold. Eating, drinking and weeing in the right place. Phew!

Snozzlemaid · 26/06/2021 13:39

Aw they're so sweet.
We got a 10 month cat from a rescue a few weeks ago and she's so much fun. Never a dull moment, that's for sure.
She's quickly become such an important part of the family.

belimoo · 26/06/2021 13:51

Aww, they are beautiful!

Twokitstwokats · 26/06/2021 19:33

So how am I ever going to get any washing done now they have decided that behind the washing machine is their favourite place?

@Twokitstwokats

So how am I ever going to get any washing done now they have decided that behind the washing machine is their favourite place?
For safety I would block it off somehow - wooden boards or something that are temporarily put up?

One of ours did the same as a kitten and DH had to take apart the skirting boards to get her out again! Luckily she was fine (just filthy) but it could be dangerous for them back there due to wires etc.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 26/06/2021 23:18

Aww they are gorgeous

Our female sees any open door as an invitation. Cupboards , dishwasher , pantry . In like a rocket .
Empty bags .
YY to the WM or drier . It takes a couple of seconds to check just to be 100% sure

They went behind the washing machine and decided it wasn't that interesting . Not that theyre too fat to fit , Oh no !

Twokitstwokats · 26/06/2021 23:29

It is now boarded off so no more hiding there. They have been great all day so here's hoping for a good first night.
