I finally found Nemo and got him in at 10:30pm. That's the latest he's been out and it shows, he's currently passed out upside down on DD's bed. It's the warm summer weather, all the cats want to stay out for the night.

We can keep each other company staying up. No sign of Tom as yet.

QueenPaw · 03/06/2021 01:26

Ollie thinks they are all bonkers and is firmly snoring in his marshmallow bed. Perfect for hot weather HmmConfused
He was thoughtfully picking his tooth with his back claws earlier weirdo

Newhousehope · 03/06/2021 04:55

Still not home 😥
I walked a lap (at nearly midnight) of where he would be able to hear me calling from usually and nothing.
I slept on the sofa, back door open. Part of me hopes he snuck in and is upstairs snoring but I think he would have made his presence known by now.

coastergirl · 03/06/2021 07:26

Hope all the dirty stop-outs are home and snoozing off their hangovers. Walter has spent the night wedged up against me. Helpful in this heat.

Supersimkin2 · 03/06/2021 07:36

Me too, hope they all arrived back as dawn broke, collapsed in the back of a taxi you ended up paying for.

We had M&S meatballs last night. Capn turned his nose up, which I drew the line at and ignored, but they vanished later.

Up promptly at 6 here - felt the furry back upon me, roary purring, tried to snuggle, rudely rebuffed.

Was a meatball purr. Served half of what was supposed to be a refained lunch for my neighbour sprinkled with dreamies.

Wants seconds.

I let Karl back in st 4.30. Shock I was alerted to his presence by a huge cat row outside that woke me. Saw the grey and white bully disappearing off the drive then Karl came in purring his head off. Naturally he demanded food before I could go back to bed.

Still no sign of Thor - can’t tell the kids or there’ll be tears! He wandered off almost a year ago for 4 days, and that was hell! He was only 10 months then. He’s still a baby, well to me!! He has little to no street sense and is afraid of his own shadow.

QueenPaw · 03/06/2021 10:07

Oh @Newhousehope they are sent to try us. This weather makes them want to wander I think

cricketmum84 · 03/06/2021 10:11

Ivy and Betsy have been fast asleep since I got up at 6... think they must have been raving in the living room all night 😂

Newhousehope · 03/06/2021 10:12

I think you’re right. It was a hot day the last time he wandered off and decided wherever he went was more pleasant than having me at his beck and call 🙄

Really hope he turns up 😢 have you tried local lost and found pets groups on Facebook? Also pop litter tray and bed outside as they can smell their own scent from up to a mile away. Posters and flyers asking neighbours to check sheds and garages too.

Our Ellie disappeared 3 years ago. We still haven't found her 😢

Newhousehope · 03/06/2021 11:24

He’s just wandered in, whilst I was on a team meeting zoom, telling them how he didn’t come home 🤣🤣
He smells like an engine 😷 so I presume shut in a garage maybe

YetAnotherSpartacus · 03/06/2021 11:27

He needs to be grounded!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 03/06/2021 11:42

Very pleased he's home safely. After they've done this for the 15th time you do stop worrying Grin.

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/06/2021 11:42

Oh thank heaven for that.

Supersimkin2 · 03/06/2021 12:34
Grin
coastergirl · 03/06/2021 13:24

Phew!

YetAnotherSpartacus · 03/06/2021 14:29

*Are you so sure?

I don't have bookshelves any more grin - anything with my name on the spine vanishes cos people always want a free copy, and the state of the rest of them beggars belief - coffee stains, biro marks, cat paw prints, flyleaf ripped out to use as shopping list, etc. A fringe of postits for reference is, frankly, showing off.

As I type Ezra Pound and his mates are holding up the door of the cupboard under the sink. His other mates got rehomed thanks to the communal book swap in our block.

EM Forster's most deliberately rude remark about a pompous colleague he didn't like 'He has a familiarity with the outside of books*

Yeah, given this I'm sure. 'Bookshelves' should just not be interpreted literally. It should include bookfloor, bookstacks, bookblocks and so on.

For a while, I have been suspicious that we have a celebrity amongst us (and I don't mean Ollie, Capn'V or TC) btw ... more, as they used to say in the olden days, an 'authoress'.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 03/06/2021 14:40

Well I went to Waterstones and asked for anything written by Supersimkin2 and they said they'd never heard of her Grin.

And yes I'm afraid we do bookfloor and bookstacks as well. Still, having far too many books is better than the old chestnut...
Why did you buy me a book for Christmas? I've already got one.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 03/06/2021 14:46

Oh so it wasn't just me trying to work out who Super is in the literary world then 😂

YetAnotherSpartacus · 03/06/2021 14:54

I've been wondering for a while ... :)

Justonedayatatime11 · 03/06/2021 15:27

The mini leopards, big and small, are absolutely loving this weather Grin

I'm thrilled to say no one has heard of me and never will. Don't get me wrong, the money would be nice, but writing takes forever and one might be at risk of serving a LW pouch or meatball late.

But (teasing) I have hobnobbed with many a celebrity and their pets. My old boss used to have to leave work early on a Friday to go 150 miles home and groom his ancient tabby. He took his cricket gloves cos she was fat and feisty. No one else on the extensive retinue of staff would do it. He reckoned they didn't love her as much as he did, and he was right.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 03/06/2021 15:33

Just - is number three Charlie?

Lana - I suspect you are hiding the truth from us! And, not just in relation to the ‘ancient tabby’ who I suspect was actually a tiger ...
