Which kitten would you choose?

We have reserved a ragdoll kitten - they are currently 4 weeks old and there's a litter of 5. We have asked for a girl and there are two (Same colouring and both absolutely gorgeous!) One is more timid and loves being picked up and held. The other is more playful and loves fighting with her brothers! We get to choose but are not sure which personality would suit us better.

Our last cat was very aggressive and swiped a lot. She had no time for our son. He is such an animal lover and is so gentle. Part of me thinks the more timid one would be better for him as it would be lovely for him to be able to hold and stroke her. However if she's too timid, she might be a bit frightened of him I guess (he's a typical boisterous 4 year old.)

Which one would you choose?

@Aprilshowersandhail

Our 2 8 years ago , sadly lost 1 last year... Got a dkitten in December he was so stressed and miserable...
Do you mean that you got a new kitten and your original cat is not happy now? I lost my dearly beloved cat and now just have one of my bonded pair. I’ve not got another because I don’t want to risk stressing my cat. It’s bad enough losing one. Just wondered if that’s what you meant if you don’t mind me asking.

Post losing his db my dcat was stressed. Pulled huge chunks of fur out. Sat howling in the garden.
Caved and got a dkitten.. Beasties within a fortnight..

My husband agreed to one kitten. Then I talked him into 2 as they would keep each other company. So we got 3 😂😂

KatherineJaneway · 05/05/2021 07:38

I'd go for the timid one as I love lap cats.

MackenCheese · 05/05/2021 07:43

Both! Kittens and bunnies should be in pairs!!

Both, if DH objects he can go.

Make him watch YouTube, all the, "I don't like cats" pics with hoomins who are totally under the paw.

Thanks everyone. No chance of getting two sadly as they are now all reserved. But we are absolutely open to getting another one at some point down the line.

Ragdolls are very friendly anyway, so whichever one you pick I think you’ll be okay in the end.

I wouldn't risk introducing a second cat once the first is settled in. Much better to either get two from the same litter at the same time, or stick with one.

Both, both, both....you know you want to...

PrincessPeachh · 05/05/2021 10:56

I’ve had my ragdoll nearly 2 years now and he’s just the best. He was the shy one in his litter and the only boy and it was a boy we wanted. He’s so calm and friendly. Follows me everywhere. My son (16) is always holding him and cuddling him. He’s very lazy, he doesn’t do much except sleep, he’ll sleep beside me all day.

@Igmum

Both. Both ❤️❤️ (If necessary tell DH there is only one and she just moves really quickly from room to room Grin)
Best advice ever Grin

I got both too!

However even though I got both mine are boy and girl. Just had to stop them shagging each other before they got done! Boy is soft sod and girl is timid.

MuddySocks · 05/05/2021 13:16

I love both of them

Aw I love this 😍 I'd have to take both too, how could you possibly choose between them!
