So excited, we are picking up a new boy tomorrow from a local rescue Smile our lovely girl, Tabitha, arrived from the same centre a few months ago and now she's getting a new friend to boss around! I spent 7 miserable cat-free years with my abusive ex who HATES cats, and now I will have two!

Oh that's lovely OP. What are you going to call him? Do you know?

PoorEliza · 09/03/2021 20:29

He's going to be called Wolfie 😊 he's a gorgeous black fella with yellow eyes. Tabitha is a dinky wee tabby, the rescue are happy for them both to be with another cat (and children) so fingers crossed there won't be too much spitting and yowling!

Are you doing slow introductions?.

Toddlerteaplease · 10/03/2021 00:44

Our vicar when I was a child had a cat called Wolfie. I love it! Good luck with the introductions.

starfish4 · 10/03/2021 07:47

How exciting! Don't forget to send us us know how it's going and send us the compulsory photo!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 10/03/2021 10:54

Awwww congrats. Is he a kitten.

Want2beme · 10/03/2021 11:21

Lovely news. Hope you'll all be very happy. They have great names😻😺

PoorEliza · 10/03/2021 11:39

Pics will of course be posted! He's about 4 apparently, relinquished by owners as they moved house. So hopefully will settle in nicely Smile off to collect him this evening, work is going too slowly!

Oh my word Wolfie is about 4 times the size of Tab! He's currently hiding behind the TV Smile can't get a good pic yet but he has been out and eaten a whole pouch of food so that's positive 👍 he's a beaut, would love to know his genetic background, he's about the size of a Jack Russell.

Sounds gorgeous!

TheSunshines · 11/03/2021 01:06

Maine coon if he's huge maybe. Photos please.

Allergictoironing · 11/03/2021 08:02

My Boycat is about the size of a smallish Jack Russell, around 6kg. He's 100% ex-feral moggie, which can throw up some striking looking cats. Every time I see my neighbour's cats I think how small they look - both smaller than 4.5kg Girlcat, but before mine came home I thought normal sized.

Then again, if Wolfie has a magnificent ruff, large paws and ear tufts then Maine Coon could well be the answer! Grin

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 11/03/2021 08:31

Congratulations!

This is my Jack Russell sized rescue boy. The vet and I are convinced there's Maine Coon in there.

So I don't think Maine coon as he doesn't have the fabulous ruffles or pointy ears, he's got a wide set head and chunky legs. I'm finding him a bloody nightmare to get a decent pic of! Hopefully this will work, can't really see the true size here. He is an absolute unit.

And he and Tab are still not friends! One minor episode of fisticuffs today but other than that they are studiously ignoring each other.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 11/03/2021 20:08

He looks gorgeous.

Not that I'm prejudiced in favour of black moggies Grin

starfish4 · 11/03/2021 20:33

He looks lovely, makes me want another! Don't forget to do introductions slowly, ie keep him in separate area and introduce scents on fabrics/cushions.

TheLongRider · 11/03/2021 21:17

Studiously ignoring is fine. They've got to get the measure of each other slowly. It her house so he has to get used to her rules.

He looks fabulous, are you still calling him Wolfie? He needs a strong name for the size of him.

Allergictoironing · 11/03/2021 21:18

He's just a big, handsome boy. He's only been home a couple of days, so it'll take a fair bit longer for the 2 of them to agree the pecking order.

Sadly, your comment about him being a nightmare to get a good pic of him is one of the reasons why black cats are harder to rehome!

That's terrible. So sad.

He's gorgeous. Early days. Tabitha will come round.

lightlypoached · 11/03/2021 21:28

Oooh he's luscious Smile congratulations

We've got a big black girl cat. She's bloody unsocial unless it's my DS, whom she loves.. she and the other cat hate each other. Still. After 7 years, but the house is big enough for them to avoid each other!

I love cats

Vinorosso74 · 11/03/2021 21:56

He's very handsome! I used to have a cat called Wolfie, he was a slightly tubby tabby.

PoorEliza · 11/03/2021 21:56

Yes he's definitely a Wolfie, it suits him perfectly. He's currently sitting quite happily on my son's bed, Tabitha is in her favourite spot in the girls room...and I am cat less on the couch! This is not how it's supposed to be!

He is stunning.
There is a plug in called friends for cat introductions.

Toddlerteaplease · 11/03/2021 22:04

Black cats as the best! He's gorgeous.
