Happy Birthday DS! A finer young man could not exist - he walks the cat with expensive fur, how cool can you get.

Bet Leroy is his greatest fan. May they have a lovely congratulatory perambulate and several vast meals to celebrate.

TheLongRider · 24/04/2021 17:34

Congratulations on surviving 17 years of parenthood!

Happy Birthday to your ds @YesItsMeIDontCare.

Allergictoironing · 24/04/2021 19:53

@YesItsMeIDontCare

17 years ago, right now this very moment, I was sitting in a hospital bed in agony, shedding more blood than I thought possible whilst staring in to a small plastic bassinet thinking OMFG what have I done 😱.

Happy Birthday DS 😂

Lovely chap you've got there wolves. I need to know what a noogie is though.

Welcome felinelucky, that's a very skooshy looking tum - are skooshes permitted or does it cause bloodshed?

I do think Paws is very polite. A delay on the chicken warrants a blep imo 😁

I'm guessing a noogie is the ear version of a bogie?
swampytiggaa · 24/04/2021 21:08

Happy birth day @YesItsMeIDontCare and to your son too!

Thewolvesarerunningagain · 24/04/2021 21:22

Thank you for the replies! Supersimkin, yikes!! That is a nightmare! Poor Cap’n and poor you. Also urgh and aargh! Thank you fluffycloud, I think outside would be better :-) Queenpaw, nope! He’s not going to let me go near with a flannel. He has become wise to my tricks Sad. Yesitsme, ear noogies (at least for a dog) are when you sort of squish around the base of the ear with finger and thumb or rub the outside of the earflap against the ear itself with a gentle pressure. Like scratching an unscratchable itch by rubbing near it. My ddog has positive eargasms from a well timed noogie :-). Thank you all for the welcome. I'm loving seeing everyone's beautiful cats on this thread!

Happy birthday YesItsMeIDontCare's DS. He is admirable in his solicitude to give Leroy a chance to explore (and possesses many other virtues I am sure)

felinelucky · 25/04/2021 07:51

Welcome felinelucky, that's a very skooshy looking tum - are skooshes permitted or does it cause bloodshed?

@YesItsMeIDontCare thank you! Oh, he's a gentle little love bug. He accepts skooshes and anything skoosh adjacent. He's too friendly actually: came in yesterday reeking of aftershave. Clearly one of my neighbours had a major cuddle with him Grin

YesItsMeIDontCare · 25/04/2021 08:34

Thank you very much for Birthday and Birth Day wishes 😁

Can't believe he's got to 17. My parenting is based on "well he's not dead yet so I'm doing something right" 😂

Leroy has finally forgiven me for leaving him for 5 hours yesterday. Went down to see DH's daughter - it was her birthday too!

Thank you wolves - I shall forever refer to ear rubs as noogies.

Mouse is back

It's that wafer thin chicken @QueenPaw. The news is spreading

What does Ollie think? He seems very sociable? He'll share his chicken but not his human

OP posts:
QueenPaw · 25/04/2021 23:11

Ollie just sat there like "come in, mama has food"

DoctorTwo · 25/04/2021 23:15

Looks like you have another NMC @QueenPaw :o

QueenPaw · 25/04/2021 23:24

I text cats protection and she was

"Tell Ollie to stop bringing scruffy cats home. I'll come scan it and have a chat with Ollie" Grin
She loves Ollie and paws almost as much as me

nettie434 · 26/04/2021 13:29

Mouse is a good name. I can't remember who suggested it up thread. She hasn't got Paws's swagger but has a rather sweet face. I think Defiantly41 is right and that Ollie boasts to all the other cats that he has posh raw food and wafer thin chicken on tap. I think of Ollie like an emperor benevolently deigning to meet his subjects in Cats Protection or the vets.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 26/04/2021 14:38

Ooh ooh oooooohhhhhh me miss! Me!!! I suggested Mouse!!!

Been to work today for the first time in 12 months... Leroy is abso-fucking-lutely furious.

Supersimkin2 · 26/04/2021 16:41

How was it Yes? I could only get away with going to work with Mr C by explaining I was going to earn snack tokens. Maybe Leroy might forgive you if you reminded him of this, and further pointed out you also had to give birth to and support DS, one of his other employees.

Mouse is lovely. Ollie is a bit of a secret party animal, isn't he.

Allergictoironing · 26/04/2021 17:12

Hmm. Looking at those pictures of Mouse, especially the one from above and behind, I get the feeling that is one cat who doesn't need their food topped up! Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/04/2021 18:24

Leroy will have found today very hard. He needs to come to terms with this unexpected turn of events.

Mouse does not look mal-nutritioned.

JoanOgden · 26/04/2021 18:40

I have had my lovely rescue cat for a couple of months and today was the designated day for her first vet check-up and worm/flea treatment. I have had the cat carrier out for a couple of weeks with regular Dreamies inside it to habituate her.

Unfortunately, following an undignified (on both sides) tussle, the cat managed to escape despite my attempt to block the cat flap, and is now sitting on the shed roof looking very ill treated and running away if I try to approach. Hoping she will forgive me as dinner time draws near.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 26/04/2021 19:12

It was good, thank you Super. I've missed it but fucking hell my feet and hips hurt 😱

Leroy's only got 2 weeks of it and DH is off for most of my hours so he should survive. DH probably won't though 😂

Sounds about par for the course Joan. What time's dinner?

JoanOgden · 26/04/2021 19:19

Dinner is at 7. You will all be unsurprised to hear that the furry miscreant reappeared at 6.55 precisely. She still has a faintly persecuted air but has bravely managed to force down some Felix soup (a special favourite). Here she is:

Goodness! You know you've been in the bad books with a face like that.
