Kitten ate lasagna

Oh god so I made a lasagna and left it on the side in portions in Tupperware to cool down. Left it and went to watch telly. Suddenly realised what I had done and ran into the kitchen where my 6 month old kitten was having a feast. He ate half the topping of one of the portions which was natural yogurt, cheese and pasta and I'm so worried. Will he be okay? Will he throw up? I'm such an idiot can't believe I left it uncovered he's in to everything I should of known

My dcats favourite is lasagne and green veg!. Dcats eat all sorts of unsuitable stuff ime. Ours had a cast iron gut...

OppsUpsSide · 13/01/2021 21:19

Is he Garfield?

ofwarren · 13/01/2021 21:20

My cats LOVE lasagne!

Arrierttyclock · 13/01/2021 21:20

Okay that's a relief. He does have abit of a sensitive stomach but he's constantly eating stuff he shouldn't be. He does remind me of Garfield esp cos he's chubby and ginger 😂

There's not much in there that will harm him. Especially if he only ate the topping.

Wolfiefan · 13/01/2021 21:21

I would be less worried about throwing up than what happens when it reaches the other end. Shock
Lesson learnt. We leave any food shut in the microwave!

Arrierttyclock · 13/01/2021 21:22

This picture is a screenshot of a video so apologies for the bad quality but this is him after he had been caught. He can't even move

That bulging belly! Grin
Definitely Garfield vibes.

Arrierttyclock · 13/01/2021 21:25

He is normally a slim cat, he looks pregnant here 😂

Greedy puss!
He might throw up if too full but it won't do any lasting harm.

cricketmum84 · 13/01/2021 21:36

Well your litter tray might be erm.... interesting tomorrow.

Sure he will be fine but if runs continue for more than a couple of days speak to your vet. Kittens can dehydrate quite quickly.

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/01/2021 21:37

You won’t like his next bowel movement much. Hopefully as he’s young he’ll still be able to process a bit of lactose.

Santaiscovidfree · 13/01/2021 21:54

I think he needs an official name change op. That is most def Garfield..

Vinorosso74 · 13/01/2021 22:01

Oh yes what comes out the other end could be interesting..... It's not the recommended diet for a cat but I'm sure he'll be ok.
We also use the microwave as a place to store food safely!

blisstwins · 13/01/2021 22:04

He is so freaking cute!!!!!

HunkyPunk · 13/01/2021 22:08

As long as he didn't eat any onion, he should be fine, op. I'm not quite sure why, but onion is poisonous for cats.

SoDiorDarling · 13/01/2021 22:19

Too cute - naughty chubby ginge

ofwarren · 13/01/2021 22:30

I don't think there will be an issue with onions from licking a lasagne. I read this from a vet website.
"Cats are very sensitive to onions and they can cause damage to the oxygen carrying capacity of red blood cells and red blood cell damage at a dose as low as 5grams per kilogram (2.2 pounds) of body weight. So a 10 pound cat could get sick from eating 22.7 grams or roughly 1 & 1/2 tablespoons of onions."

grandmasterstitch · 13/01/2021 22:31

He'll be fine, maybe a bit full! We have a cat who will eat anything. I once had to re make a cake because he scoffed a good chunk of it

Gogglebox20 · 13/01/2021 22:35

Omg, he is gorgeous!!!!!

mrswarthog · 13/01/2021 22:37

@OppsUpsSide

Is he Garfield?
Beat me to it...
Jux · 13/01/2021 22:38

He's lovely!

Ours would love to eat lasagne and we do let them lick the plates at the end of our meal.....

If he's got a sensitive tummy he might get a bit of diarrhoea or fart/burp more than usual -- and they may be very rich farts.... - but he'll be fine. Lucky lad!

Jux · 13/01/2021 22:39

Onion and garlic are not good for cats, but every cat I've ever had has had a bit of both when they eat pretty well anything savoury I've cooked. The amount of onion he'd have got through eating your lasagne would be minimal.

Toddlerteaplease · 13/01/2021 22:58

Cheddar would Lao love to eat lasagna, she loves pasta. And she really does look like Garfield. Op your cat is gorgeous, but he does look like troupes on four legs!
