Kitten ate lasagna

Oh god so I made a lasagna and left it on the side in portions in Tupperware to cool down. Left it and went to watch telly. Suddenly realised what I had done and ran into the kitchen where my 6 month old kitten was having a feast. He ate half the topping of one of the portions which was natural yogurt, cheese and pasta and I'm so worried. Will he be okay? Will he throw up? I'm such an idiot can't believe I left it uncovered he's in to everything I should of known

Our cats love lasagne and chilli. They also like a bit of roast chicken dinner, especially if there's broccoli in it!

OppsUpsSide · 13/01/2021 23:06

He’s a stunner of a cat

Sparklfairy · 13/01/2021 23:10

Good job you didn't post this in aibu... The thread would be riddled with I HOPE THAT'S NOT AN OUTSIDE CAT THATS GONNA SHIT ALL OVER YOUR NEIGHBOURS GARDENS!!! Grin

Ibizafun · 13/01/2021 23:11

I had the same last week with my 6 month kitten when I left the cheesy pasta to cool. Caught her red handed, it’s the cheese they love.

TheLongRider · 13/01/2021 23:15

I think ginger cats are the Labradors of the cat world, tabby owners may beg to differ!

ShowOfHands · 13/01/2021 23:16

My girl loves lasagne too and if you've had corn on the cob with it, you have to hang onto it or she will sneak up and steal it like lightning. She is obsessed with the stuff and will gnaw the cob clean and beg for more.

middleager · 13/01/2021 23:28

This thread has cheered me up!

One of my beloved cats loved to sneak cheese pizza topping into his mouth if I didn't guard the pizza.

Sparklfairy · 13/01/2021 23:42

This reminds me of when we were kids and made fairy cakes. My sister had a big tantrum about something or other and took hers, wrapped them in a bag, and threw the in the wastepaper basket (logical I know). Anyway when she came to retrieve them after calming down she was gutted to find the cat had got into the bin and eaten them Grin

Current cats sit waiting patiently, purring, while I eat knowing at the end she'll get my last bite Blush although she's been known to edge closer and closer to my DM's plate with DM going ooooh isn't she cute and the cat stealthily swiping a chip right before DM's eyes Grin

Peakedin1997 · 13/01/2021 23:49

Also came here to ask if your cat is Garfield Grin

My old cat preferred spag bol.

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 13/01/2021 23:55

Banzai!

Yep, he’s Garfield alright, and gorgeous with it. Doesn’t look like he’s going to be moving very far or very fast for a while, that belly 🤣

@Peakedin1997 mine too, even the spaghetti 🤷🏻‍♀️ Another one liked fish shop chips, wasn’t bothered about the fish tho!

@ShowOfHands corn on the cob! 😂

Franticbutterfly · 14/01/2021 07:50

My cat once eat a load of lasagne, and went missing for a day afterwards. She eats all sorts of stuff and has lived until 15 years old (so far). Don't worry about it. Maybe change the kitten's name to Garfield. 😂

Toddlerteaplease · 14/01/2021 11:38

How was the litter tray this morning?!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 14/01/2021 12:44

Your kitten will be fine.
My main concern would be how to still use the lasagne without the rest of the household realising the cat had snaffled part of it. Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/01/2021 18:07

Extra white sauce and some breadcrumbs. They’ll never know.

How is the little gannet? Ginger and tabby cats do tend to run large, generally. Their designed for a famine.

Toddlerteaplease · 14/01/2021 18:53

Cheddar and Snorg waiting for me to do the right thing, and give them steak.

I’d give in too, there’s more of them than you.

Jellington · 14/01/2021 19:30

Cheeky monkey! He will be absolutely fine. Don't worry. Shame about the lasagne though!

HopingForOurRainbowBaby · 14/01/2021 19:40

Probably just get the squits. I made a baileys cheesecake a few years ago for Xmas day pudding. Left it on the side board in the living room and my exH came back from the living room to find my DSis DCats head inside it merrily snaffling it down, said cheesecake ended up in the bin and then she went on to finishing the dregs of mulled wine and strawberries and cream corkies out of everyone's glasses when we weren't looking. She had to be put to bed to sleep it off. Few hours later she was right as rain Grin

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 14/01/2021 19:43

Do it. They’re still waiting for revenge after the bathing incidents.

And, um, are those satsumas? I don’t think that’s an appropriate substitute for steak tbh Grin

I did similar as a child- I knew I was part reincarnated feline Shock

the sleeping for 19 hours a day and eating for the other 5 was my first clue

Weedsnseeds1 · 14/01/2021 19:50

He'll be fine. Hardly any lactose in cheese and yoghurt as its fermented.
Old cat was a dustbin, spaghetti hoops, curry, baked beans, pizza, cauliflower cheese - she lived to over 20.

Toddlerteaplease · 14/01/2021 20:12

@OnceUponAMidnightBeery no. They are oranges. They got steak. cheddar had hers hand fed.

Arrierttyclock · 18/01/2021 14:23

Thank you everyone. Sorry for the late reply it didn't give me any notifications that anyone had replied. He's been absolutely fine, not even a runny poo 😂 little monster!

He is gorgeous and he looks even more unrepentant in the second photo!

Our cat once chewed through a pastry case to get to Turkey, leek and creme fraiche pie filling she was very unpopular as we were looking forward to it. Didn't do her any long term harm though as she's 20 in 2 months.
