My cats are bone idle

I know it's axiomatic that cats sleep all the time, but mine really do take the biscuit when it comes to idleness.
They were all in last night, none have even bothered with a short constitutional outside this morning and I've just looked round the house to find these. The totality of their day has been to get up, eat, pester us over breakfast, use the tray and curl back up.

I'm pleased to announce that Basil (aka Toupee cat - TC??) has finally moved off his spot. He's been on the same sofa for 9 hours. I confess I did actually prod him to make sure he was still alive .

The first time I had a cat I remember crying to DH that he must be ill because he ( the cat) had slept for 6 hours solid throughout the day! Oh to be that innocent again!

The only reason one of mine has moved recently is because he knows it’s dinner time soon. He moved from a cushion on the sofa to the arm, for a quick get away to the kitchen for din dins! The others haven’t even moved for that and have been snoozing away all day. Ditto the dog. It’s tough living in my house....

It is cold outside. There are fewer sofas out there. These naps need having, they aren't going to have themselves, someone's gotta have them. Your cats are only doing their duty.

My cat is rather annoyed again this week. Not only is there snow on the ground, meaning it is very cold outside, but the dc are not at school and have claimed their beds during the day, so she is struggling to find somewhere to sleep. (Obviously my bed is not suitable as I do not need to be on it).

My cats are over joyed the teens are off school, always someone to get into bed with 🙄

Not my cat slept like this for 7hrs. I went to check he was ok and he dramatically rolled over and slapped his paw over his eyes. Alright mate, not like it's my house or anything

Mine has taken to sleeping on my bed all day he gets on while I'm having breakfast I throw the duvet back to air the bed and he goes to sleep on the double thickness of duvet so i can't make it. This afternoon i had a nap and he came and slept on the bed with me. He didn't come down until tea time. He went outside for about an hour and is now sleeping again in the armchair this time.

Kloppy was out with his new girlfriend last night so obviously had to recover by snuggling on my legs for two hours this morning. I was about to Google 'bedsores' but my battery died

I can't believe I've had him nearly a year He's still very kittenish in his ways, full of curiosity and joy and trouble

Err, going back to lazy cats. I had to forcibly eject Rosie from the house this morning - she literally hadn't moved for 12 hours This was her poor little face at the window after five minutes outside

I just opened this thread and looked at the first couple of posts without looking who the OP was. Recognised the cats and thought "ooh it must be Grumpy"! Do I get a Litter Tray badge?

Here is Walter right now. Can't get his face because he's on me! I frequently wish I was a cat.

My 19 year old took a shit down the side of the sofa this morning because the litter tray was just too far away in the next room, although I suspect she sleeps so deeply that when she wakes up and realises she needs to do one it's an emergency situation.
I should be grateful really - at least it was on the hard floor and not the rug.
