My cats are bone idle

I know it's axiomatic that cats sleep all the time, but mine really do take the biscuit when it comes to idleness.
They were all in last night, none have even bothered with a short constitutional outside this morning and I've just looked round the house to find these. The totality of their day has been to get up, eat, pester us over breakfast, use the tray and curl back up.

Her fluff is very Somali like but not her colour 😂 it was the toe tufts that got me!

YetAnotherSpartacus · 08/01/2021 13:02

What or who did she break her right-hand side fang on?

HorseradishSnowflake · 08/01/2021 13:04

I am forced to be on mumsnet because I cant even sort out the washing...shame.

Loads of pics of the delectable Sybil, thank you Grumpy Grin

ToastieSnowy · 08/01/2021 14:05

Welsh dragon! Grin

Mine was watching Fear the Walking Dead with me last night, hope she’s not having nightmares.

Well it's about 2.00 and I have now seen some evidence of life from both Karl and Lenny.
Karl actually went outside (when I had to nip out earlier) and came back in on my return 20 minutes later. He's now asleep again as previously.
Lenny woke up briefly (may have been related to me making myself a lamb sandwich...) stole some lamb and has now gone back to his pile of bubble wrap.
I've also noticed that Basil has reversed his rotation. In the photo from 11.30 he's a counter-clockwise cat (measured from underneath). He's now in exactly the same spot but clockwise.

I think I may be procrastinating today...

Grumpy Imagine the procrastination opportunities if you had the Sure Microchip cat flap.
Mine tells me Cat1 was in for 14 hours overnight (but nippy out) and Cat2 has been inside since 7.15am. They both have new collars which have bells like Santa's sleigh so, if moving, are very easy to locate in the house. Cat2 is the queen of the secret hiding places, she loves to creep silently up the stairs and into one of the kids wardrobes and shut the door behind her.

Havelock is making me feel guilty because he’s been reduced to sleeping on the rug.
I can’t hoover until he moves.

My 2 babies are out playing in the sleet but they do sleep a lot. The 18yo is curled up in her radiator bed

Blueberrycreampie · 08/01/2021 14:35

You should all get a cat like mine - helping with the 🧽!

IntermittentParps · 08/01/2021 14:37

RandomMess, is your cat asleep on its face? Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/01/2021 14:49

I used to call that sleeping position the “oh god am I still on this fecking island?” @IntermittentParps

IntermittentParps · 08/01/2021 14:51

Grin Fluffy

MarmiteMushroom · 08/01/2021 14:59

2 out of 3 of my cats are exactly the same, dont think they've been further than the end of the drive!

purrswhileheeats · 08/01/2021 15:49

Grumpy that second photo in your OP is a toupee, not a cat Shock

My girls are spectacularly lazy; I have to peel Rosie off the sofa in the morning to put her out before I go to work. It's not like I'm chucking her out into a blizzard - it's bloody 23c where I live so she just moves to her favourite chair on the balcony and sunbathes until I get home Hmm

You've hurt Basil's feelings now. Shock

Actually since he hasn't shifted from that seat all day you might be right, were it not for the gentle snoring sounds coming from said toupee.

Very tired

TuxedoPantherSheHer · 08/01/2021 16:17

But they have all that lovely due to grow YABU

Want2beme · 08/01/2021 17:02

Bert has taken a quick break from snoozing in order to guilt trip me into giving him another sachet. He's not very well at the moment and I'm a big pushover. So, he gets his way, another successful manipulation, job doneWink

My cat sleeps on it's face too especially while the DCs are off school.

Kinda jealous of all these sleepy, docile cats 😂 Mine are not kittens but still quite young, they constantly want to explore, play entertained. I am regularly howled at by BoyCat for playtime, and the other day Girlcat actually toppled the cat toy basket in an attempt to draw my attention to it! Some days I wish they would, you know, chill out!

Fairydustrust · 08/01/2021 18:22

Mine has turned over today, so I know she's alive 🤣🤣. Definitely not leaving the house until Spring!. Still, must be a good dream as that looks like a smile Smile

Fairydustrust · 08/01/2021 18:24

Photo!

RandomMess · 08/01/2021 18:29

@boredinthouse our girl sleeps like that too, first time we witnessed it we thought she had died on us!!
