My baby girl has been forever a house cat/garden cat. Today she managed to get over the fence without me knowing and went next door. We knocked and got her back and thought we had fixed where she had got over, but she’s just done it again while dh was putting rubbish out! Normally she runs around the garden and comes back in but it’s so windy out there I think she’s panicked.

She’s been out for an hour now and still not back. Iv looked over the fence and can’t see her at all. Next door have gone bed and/or turned the lights off after hearing us calling her, they have small children anyway.

I’m so worried. It’s so cold and windy :(

I can’t see or hear her anywhere.

She should come back.. i hope so! The weather is awful. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

giantangryrooster · 25/09/2020 21:02

I'm so sorry. Do you have any treats you can rattle for her or any favorite food you can open and pour in the garden for smell? Call and whistle.

I really hope she is home soon, in that case put 'horizontal fence' on top of your fence. Best of luck.

Toddlerteaplease · 25/09/2020 21:03

Both of mine have done this. Snorg was hiding behind next doors bins and cheddar had somehow got into a garden in the nest street. She'll be back.

Thedarksideofthemoon30 · 25/09/2020 21:20

Shall I sleep downstairs? :(

Some tips

Get outside and search and call. Sleep next to the door to have a chance of seeing/hearing if she is back.

LostFrog · 25/09/2020 21:29

I’m afraid I’d be creeping round the neighbours’ garden by now! Could she get into the road? I hope you find her.

Thedarksideofthemoon30 · 25/09/2020 21:36

My daughter keeps getting the dining room chair and looking over the fence with a torch but there’s so much stuff in their garden we can’t see her. Iv been out with treats every 5 mins and can see her or hear her. Our house backs onto a cul du sac and Iv been around with treats etc.

😩 Iv checked our car on the drive and next door

Had she eaten dinner?. If she has she doesn’t need to come yet.

Thedarksideofthemoon30 · 25/09/2020 22:11

She’s a grazer so eats all day on dry food.

She’s such a softy, I don’t think she would cope out side 😩😂🙈 shee only 13 months old. I feel sick. Iv sett up camp on the sofa near the door.

What if she needs to the toilet? She only goes in her tray, will she come back?

OP posts:
EmptyFrogBarrel · 25/09/2020 22:15

Oh, I hope she’s back soon. Have you tried taking her litter tray outside?

LindaEllen · 25/09/2020 22:22

I really hope she comes home soon. I know how hard it is when they go missing, particularly if they don't normally stray far!

Thedarksideofthemoon30 · 25/09/2020 22:29

I don’t even know how she got out the garden. She’s not done it before 😩 I’m going to have to cat proof it this weekend 😔

Thedarksideofthemoon30 · 25/09/2020 22:58

She’s home! I decided to try one more time and went out shaking the treats and she jumped straight over the fence at the bottom of the garden, so not into next door but into the cul-du-sac. She was purring away but felt cold :( Iv warmed a water bottle and gave her some food. Iv got some sticky tape that stops her scratching the sofa. Do you think if I put it on the fence for now it will stop her getting over until I can get something more permanent?

motherofdxughters · 25/09/2020 23:02

Glad she's back OP.

giantangryrooster · 25/09/2020 23:16

Oh that is good, what a fright Smile.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 25/09/2020 23:19

Your cat has shown her independent streak. The fact that she came back purring would seem to imply that she enjoyed it. I fear the genie is out if the bottle and you probably now have an outdoor cat. Do we get a picture?

Thedarksideofthemoon30 · 25/09/2020 23:25

Ignore her poor shaven neck, this was after she cost me £1000 at the vets last month 😩😭😂

Katzecure seems effective too. Is she chomping at the but to go out this morning?.

Thedarksideofthemoon30 · 26/09/2020 08:24

Yep.. I was sticking the tape on one side of the fence and spotted her going over the other side!

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/09/2020 08:29

The genie is out the bottle now.

charmsofasimplelife · 26/09/2020 08:49

She's beautiful!

Maybe she would be happier with more freedom?

I was petrified when my cat went 'out' for the first time but he loved it. He'd come in at night and sleep at the end of the bed, but in the day would just cry to be let out.

maggiethecat · 26/09/2020 10:22

So glad she's back. I posted on another thread that our cats sound very similar and I fear that this will happen to us too. She stares out the glass doors and I know she can't wait to get out.

Thedarksideofthemoon30 · 26/09/2020 11:11

She’s been absolutely happy with the garden. I feel really sad about letting her go out for the day lol she’s like a puppy and sleeps next to us/on our bed/follows us around all day :(
