My Demelza is “missing”

My baby girl has been forever a house cat/garden cat. Today she managed to get over the fence without me knowing and went next door. We knocked and got her back and thought we had fixed where she had got over, but she’s just done it again while dh was putting rubbish out! Normally she runs around the garden and comes back in but it’s so windy out there I think she’s panicked.

She’s been out for an hour now and still not back. Iv looked over the fence and can’t see her at all. Next door have gone bed and/or turned the lights off after hearing us calling her, they have small children anyway.

I’m so worried. It’s so cold and windy :(

I can’t see or hear her anywhere.

They are happy with their own garden till they find out what lies over the fence.

I hope you can cat proof. It saves a lot of hassle long term.

She's quite a scamp... definitely a member of the naughty tortie club. Glad she's back!

I think my naughty tortie has gone to cheer up her other mum aka the old lady next door who got widowed by covid in the first week of lockdown.
Two weeks after we got her, she escaped out the door when we were coming in from school run and and we were afraid she'd not find her way back. Thankfully she did.

Really glad Demelza came home safely Thedarksideofthemoon30. I have to say, Demelza is a brilliant name for a beautiful and independently minded tortie!

There’s no stopping her now. I even put double sided table on top of the fence. She’s determined to get over. She goes straight over if let out.

How do I do it? Just leave her out and wait for her to come back? I call her and she doesn’t come running 😭😔 what if I have to go out?

You’re going to have to cat proof if you want her to stay in the garden.

This is not pretty, but if you have a fenced in garden put this kind of wire fence horizontal on the top, sticking out 30-40 cm. She won't be able to get over it then.
