I didn’t try to eat your yogurt - now go away nothing to see here.

What has your cat swiped?

Wasn’t me.

EL8888 · 05/09/2020 18:07

Nope. No evidence about where the yoghurt has gone!

A tandoori lamb chop while l was still eating it. It turned into a tug of war and l won! Cat weighs over 6kg (can’t think why Grin)

Bargebill19 · 05/09/2020 18:17

I wouldn’t have given in either!

She’s killed her shrimp and now fast asleep.

Wasn’t me.
OP posts:
EL8888 · 05/09/2020 19:34

Bless her! Where’s the shrimp from? None of cats have any toys like that

In his defence he is a big cat (it’s not just lard!)

Bargebill19 · 05/09/2020 19:41

Shrimp is from amazon. It’s meant to be chewed to clean her teeth - I stuff it with those freeze dried sardines from pets at home. She’s 17 weeks old.
She has two sisters - our home is covered in cat toys!

Santa’s milk!

Oh my! Did Santa mind? 🤣

I don't have a photo of this, DP was home alone while DD and I were visiting my parents. He bought himself an almond croissant and planned to watch something on TV, went back to kitchen for his coffee and returned to find said croissant on floor and cat with icing sugar on his face.....

RainandCloudsinSummer · 05/09/2020 21:32

A whole raw chicken from a neighbour... must have snuck in and had it away over a couple of garden fences before somehow cramming it through our cat flap.

Another cat, a plastic wrapped loaf of bread, again from a neighbour.

Just need to train the third cat to steal bacon and we'll be good for a club sandwich!

Allergictoironing · 05/09/2020 21:36

DSis's cat - the icing off the Christmas chocolate log. Home made choc buttercream...

FlyingFlamingo · 05/09/2020 21:36

Well he still left her a gift so she must have been forgiven. She’s in deeper trouble this year unfortunately, she carried a robin into the house and released it, still alive, the robin in its frantic attempts to escape flew straight into a window and died! I’ve told her she’s got a lot of work to do to make that one up to him!

Bargebill19 · 05/09/2020 21:37

Are our cats trying to tell us we don’t feed them the ‘good stuff’? 🤣

In my childhood, I remember our cat stole a neighbours string of sausages, dragged them up on to a second storey bedroom window - climbed in the hopper window and deposited them on mums dressing table.

About 20 years ago, one of my own wandered along the towpath and stole a fish from the galley kitchen. I did replace that boaters dinner!

Homemade buttercream - I would have done the same !

She sat literally 2 inches from my face on the arm of the sofa tonight while I ate steak and chips. Every now and again a paw would shoot out and try to take whatever was on the fork on its way to my mouth, sometimes successfully, sometimes not. All stolen items were then rejected (she doesn't like chips and the steak had garlic and chilli seasoning so didn't meet with her approval) and she looked so upset I ended up saving the last piece of steak and painstaking cutting all the outer parts off so she was just left with the inside bit with no seasoning. She has me well trained Blush

The secret is to a) whip it for ages & ages with a little bit of milk added, so it goes almost (but not quite!) mousse-y and b) add vanilla essence.

I have been told by more than one person who should know e.g. at rescues, that cats don't like sweet things. Tell my mate's cat that, he's a custard fiend. Or my DBro's first 2 cats, they used to like nothing better than licking out the Ambrosia Creamed Rice tubs - plus one adored lemon drizzle cake (cats hate anyuthing citrus too apparently) Grin

Fiances kebab when he came home after a big night out hoping to enjoy his kebab. Nipped to the loo and the kitten ate half of it

polkadotpixie · 05/09/2020 21:56

My cat ate the mushy peas off my Dad's fish and chips...didn't touch the fish, went straight for the mushy peas 😂

lurch3r · 05/09/2020 22:00

All the butter licked off my plate of toast while I was the other side of the room trying to unjam the DVD player. I think it was a trap.

Bargebill19 · 05/09/2020 22:11

Omg we have some awesome cats amongst us!
I have just been mugged by six cats for their nighttime webbox and dried chicken. I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before they work out where I keep the stash and how to open it. They already recognise the packets in amongst my shopping order.

@Allergictoironing

Thank you for the tip! Sounds awesome and will be tried this weekend.
Cats like what they like. I have one who like tea - but only from my used mug.
Another lives cheese and onion crisps. Will swipe them from your fingers like a seagull.

They do get fed and (Cat)food is always there for them.

Recently, my girl has stolen my ice cream lolly by wrapping both paws around my wrist and holding it in place.
She also stole a 2-inch piece of battered cod from my plate last Monday, she's also stolen chocolate cake and squeaks at my husband to put the Muller rice pot down for her when he's done.
She has torn open a fresh bag of kibble and framed her brother (RIP) for it, you have a 50/50 chance of being allowed a cup of hot chocolate in peace and if you leave a fairly full glass of water on teh side she will likely help herself.

My boy never stole anything, he'd ask politely.

My mother old boy once stole a pork chop from the hot frying pan.

Bargebill19 · 05/09/2020 22:41

Your cats have very well trained servants and exceptionally good taste!

My two sit next to me waiting for me to do the right thing. Cheddar will occasionally take a swipe at my plate. We frequently have the "but you don't like ......"
Magic loves baked bean juice and Ikea meatballs, steak and bread. I've discovered they don't like food too hot. So I blow on it.
Cheddar adores pasta and tells me she likes everything but then won't eat it.

Toddlerteaplease · 05/09/2020 22:47

The late Fatty used to drink my tea.

Bargebill19 · 05/09/2020 22:58

Hubby is making his pack up. (Night shift).
Three kittens are ganging up on him. The competition is to see who gets ham sandwiches.
