My grandad hated cats, couldn't stand the sight of them. We used to have a little black cat, she was a tea leaf but knew her place. One summer my grandad came to stay, we were all enjoying our pork chops when Samantha decided to steal it out of his mouth It was one of those perfect moments that happened in slow motion - he picked up the chop to knaw on it and the cat flew horizontally, taking the chop with her.

I turned my back momentarily on a buttered piece of malt loaf. Haribo picked it up and deposited it on his food mat to eat later. I picked it up and ate it. No way was the last piece of malt loaf going to waste.

The butter off my bagel this morning. She goes crazy for butter.

Ours had a butter-dar but would only eat lurpak.

Our little black cat (RIP) got to the monkfish mum had covered in flour ready to cook . It was on top of the oven (one of those old fashioned cookers with the grill on top). She put her face in it (I just caught her then). Went off with a "!what"? expresson on her face and a tell tale white round 'o' where her mouth was!

I have been told by more than one person who should know e.g. at rescues, that cats don't like sweet things. Tell my mate's cat that, he's a custard fiend. Or my DBro's first 2 cats, they used to like nothing better than licking out the Ambrosia Creamed Rice tubs - plus one adored lemon drizzle cake (cats hate anyuthing citrus too apparently)

HRH Sodding Kitten appeared in the living room on Saturday with a sticky forehead and cheeks after licking an empty sticky toffee pudding pot that had been put in the sink for washing up before recycling. He also likes custard. And cake crumbs. Bread. Green beans. He swiped a chicken breast off DH’s plate in a lightning speed raid at about 15 weeks, but it was bigger than his head and too heavy so he let it go.

I did post this a couple of years ago when it happened - but this was one of the kittens clearly denying that he'd licked out the porridge bowl despite the evidence on his mouth (and his feet in the bowl)

A lamb chop off my plate, I had been really looking forward to eating it but turned my back for a second. It probably serves me right for letting the cat sit at the table and mooch!

Just realised that all of the pictures posted are of black cats! I wonder if it’s a superstitious thing 😂

I think black cats are just good at getting into comedy poses to make up for them being more difficult to photograph normally.
